This is the third time i've been on this week and been baffled. Unable to make a move in this game.
I don't doubt any of the moves made it's just me and buses.
Can someone explain to me how to go about finding these things please.
I've looked on the traveline website and found in no time the DRM 476 service, yet looking at the timetables I find no Malvern Link Top, nor just plain Malvern for that matter and no arrivals in Tarrington at 0809

I personally just Google "Buses in xxxxx." Often a county council will have a page listing all buses in a particular town.
For instance in Malvern the Worcestershire CC has a helpful page: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/buses-in-worcestershire/timetables.aspx

I too often find that the bus companies websites are not necessarily comprehensive, hence why often use County Councils.

I can't find that time in any timetable - only a 1347 bus arriving at 1410

Assuming that a bus has arrived in Much Birch at some point, we board the 14:20 STAGECOACH IN WYE AND DEAN service 33 back to Ross on Wye, arriving at 14:40 on a Monday afternoon

I did check on the rules section on the very first posting of this quiz, but could find no guidance on the use where available of Bank Holiday timetables on days when such timetables are available to use. However, it was well into the quiz-day of next Monday when this dawned on me, so there should not be any problems with any postings that are said to have fallen on this particular Bank Holiday Monday.

Perhaps this could be something that the forum quizmasters would like to consider with regard to a clarification of the rules section.

Bank Holiday or not I can't find anything out of Lydney Bus Station and as the Railway Station is over a mile away and out of bounds we need some sleep so after a night in the Deangate Motel nearby we return to the Bus Station bright and early and board James Bevans bus on the 06:15 717 to Cinderford (Coop) arriving at 06:42 on Tuesday morning ready for another hard day.

Since the day of week we are using rarely bears any relation to the day of the week we are 'playing', there is no need to use different timetables for bank holidays. If we are already doing this, there is no need to go back, but we should now carry on with a normal weekday timetable.

This is why the rule with "Christmas Day and Boxing Day" in it no longer appears in this thread - it simply doesn't make sense.

Regarding buses, it is polite if for everyone else's benefit you can try and catch a bus to somewhere meaningful (perhaps a train station or a bus station), as it is can be a real pain to track down buses that stop at places picked at random from a timetable. You are not currently under any obligation to do so, however.

May I enquire as to what will occur in those parts of Scotland and Wales where the Beeching cuts decimated the railway network in those area and there are now only bus services. Is it the intention that such areas as this are now to be viewed as being out-of-bounds on this relaunched version of this quiz.

This is not the case. Indeed, as OxtedL pointed out, this is not a mandatory ruling. We remain in a position to go anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales.

But there does seem a preference amongst some who (exaggerates for effect) are happier only travelling the length of a route, whether bus or train. Or to Heald Green (OK I don't really mean that last bit.....)

I looked on the Arriva timetable for service A and it shows the Hampton Hotel as the timing point for the Airport Parkway stop. I think we have been allowed to carry on though - just giving my reasoning.

I have to agree - even the hotel web site claims it's within walking distance - but it's a good 15 minutes on foot - unless there's a way through the industrial estate that lies between the hotel and the station - not actually very far as the crow flies. I don't believe there is. I suspect some manager somewhere has only looked at the 'broader picture' and ignored the detail.
