Not much left now, so we decide to take advantage of the overnight travel relaxation rule and next board the 0604 West Midlands Trains service to Duddeston that arrives there at 0651 on Sunday morning.
I'm struggling a bit to find this one, do they really start that early on Sundays?

That is indeed correct, the 0604 is in fact the first service on a Saturday and not Sunday.

09:31 is the earliest one. There also aren't any buses on a Sunday at all.

I am now beginning to doubt my sanity. This is the second time today that a recourse to a website has for some reason put fallacy in my mind and all I can now do is to once again strike-through the incorrectly made posting and take a sabbatical away from this thread.
To be fair Paul, there is no need to completely strike through your posting, we can simply amend your time to the Sunday service towards Birmingham which is the 09:44. It doesn't run via Duddeston on a Sunday as all services go via Soho East however we could alight at say Tame Bridge Parkway at 1016 on Sunday morning?

I certainly wouldn't dwell on it Paul, as you will all recognise I regularly make unbelievable errors in posts usually because I'm multi tasking, I often can't believe what I've done when its pointed out!

I agree with @ValleyLines142 suggestion of how to proceed :)

Indeed. Look how many times I've stated the wrong day or gone 'at 09:00 on Monday evening'

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Little or nothing in the way of buses at this time of night so we can continue on the 2259 West Midlands Trains service to Rugeley Town arriving there at 2305 on Saturday.
Thanks to both of you for your understanding and kind comments, so I will take up your advice......

We take advantage of the overnight travel relaxation rule and next board the 0944 West Midland Trains service to Tame Bridge Parkway that arrives there at 1016 on Sunday morning.

This should enable the game to continue.

Not a problem!

We exit the station to the bus stop outside on Walsall Road, where we board the 1021 National Express West Midlands service 4M to Merry Hill (Bus Station), arriving there at 1115 on Sunday morning.

Pipped!

Sunday daytimes in Bradmore we are limited to the 15A, so, not wanting to return to Kingswinford or Merry Hill, we wait an hour and continue on the 1409 National Express West Midlands service 15A, alighting at Wolverhampton Police Station (stop AJ1) at 1419 on Sunday.

From here we take the 7 minute, 0.3 mile walk to the Railway Station and board the 1444 Transport for Wales service to Tygwyn arriving there at 1835 on Sunday.

Obviously on a Sunday we are very limited and don't particularly want to be stuck in the sticks, so we have no choice but to wait for the 2026 Transport for Wales service 2J23 to Pwllheli, arriving there at 2108 on Sunday evening.

That's it for public transport for today in Pwllheli so we kip down for the night and await the first movement in the morning. We therefore cross the road to the bus station and board the 0625 Berwyn service 17, alighting at Botwnnog, nr Rhydygaled, at 0638 on Monday morning.

Heading further away from civilisation we await the 0917 Berwyn service 17, taking it to it's furthest westerly stop at Aberdaron after Swyddfa'r Post, at 0930 on Monday.

Fair play even though I'm Welsh myself some of the North Walean towns and villages have brilliant, unpronounceable names!

We have a bit of a gap now until the 1115 Berwyn service 17B, which we take as far as Llanbedrog (Glyn y Weddw), arriving there at 1143 on Monday morning.

Exploring more of the remote parts of the Llyn Peninsula, we next board the 1215 Berwyn service 18, and we alight Mynydd Cilan nr Erw Deg, arriving at 1245 on Monday.

Both bustimes and TfW website show the 18 being operated in full by Berwyn and by Nefyn. I'm using Berwyn's timings, as Nefyn's don't serve Mynydd Cilan.

The 1640 serivce 12 next takes us to Caernarfon Bus Station, where we arrive at 1725 on Monday.

This service appears to be operated by Clynnog & Trefor / Berwyn Coaches, which as far as I can tell are 2 operators sharing a route registration. Nowhere can I find who runs which journey!

Shucks - pipped again!

The nearest bus stop is over 0.5 mile from the station, so we leave Dovey Junction by train. The 2057 Transport for Wales service towards Aberystwyth takes us to Bow Street where we alight at 2113 on Monday.

Unfortunately we have just missed the T2 bus service so instead we will wait for the 2137 Transport for Wales service to Borth arriving at 2144 on Monday.

The last bus passed three and a half hours ago, and the next train isn't until 2322, so I think we are justified in kipping down for the night. We therefore board the first "outbound" train of the day, which is the 0541 Transport for Wales service towards Birmingham. We alight at Machynlleth at 0559 on Tuesday morning.
