Walking the 0.4 miles to the station, we then board the 22:24 East Midlands Trains service 2W27 to Worksop, arriving at 23:16 Monday evening.

We then take the 2330 Northern service to Sheffield arriving there at 0003 in the very early hours of Tuesday morning.

Random factoid: this is one of only 3 tram services a day to contain a reversal!

After meeting up with the Doctor in these parts, travelling back to 1832, getting Isambard Kingdom Brunel's autograph and defeating a rogue Dalek, we walk to Dunkeld Road in Ecclesall where we board the 20:34 First South Yorkshire route 272 bus service to Brough (Traveller's Rest), arriving there at 21:09 on Tuesday evening.

This puts us a half-mile walk away from Hope rail station. Other options remain available.

Whilst TransPennine do run all night between Manchester and Leeds I don't see the thrill of riding back and forth for the sake of it, especially when services do die down for about two to three hours at some point in the middle of the night, so we break our journey overnight and take the four minute walk to the bus stops on Infirmary Street, where we board the 0554 First Leeds service 7A to Moortown (King Lane Park and Ride), arriving there at 0618 on Wednesday morning.

We then find a corner to huddle in as we wait for the 01:59 TPE service 1P03 to York, arriving at 02:46 in the dark hours of Wednesday morning.

There's not a lot going on here, so we take the 0.3 mile walk to the Glasgow Road and grab some lunch before boarding the 13:47 Stagecoach West Scotland service 221 to Wanlockhead Post Office, arriving at 14:13 Wednesday afternoon.

Next, we walk to the Museum of Lead Mining. After popping in for a bit, we exit and board the 15:24 Stuarts of Carluke route 30A to Symington (Carding Street), arriving there at 16:05 on Wednesday afternoon.
