We walk to the next door station and get the 00:51 Northern service 1U51 to Manchester Airport, arriving at 01:00 Thursday morning.

We decide to get some sleep. Afterwards, we board the 07:10 TransPennine Express rail service to Penrith North Lakes, arriving there at 08:54 on Thursday morning.

That is too late, the time we need to restart after an overnight break is 05:00 and it is then required to be within 2 hours of the first available service (05:03)

Taking some time to sample some mint cake, we then board the 15:40 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire service 555 to Ambleside bus interchange, arriving at 16:24 Thursday afternoon.

Next, we board the 16:30 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire route 516 'Langdale Rambler' bus service to Great Langdale - Dungeon Ghyll, arriving there at 17:01 on Thursday afternoon.

Wishing to spend some time admiring this landscape, we stop off at the hotel for the night, before returning in the morning on the 10:01 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire service 516 to Clappersgate, o/s Croft Lodge, arriving at 10:28 Friday morning.

I was up this way quite recently, beautiful landscape but I wouldn't fancy driving a bus down some of those roads!

We then wait for the 14:09 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire service 555 to Thirlmere, nr Wythburn Church, arriving at 14:53 Friday afternoon.

We then get the 19:30 Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire service 40 to Preston Bus Station Stand 2, arriving 20:29 Friday evening.

We wait here for a while (ill advised on Friday night in Blackpool I know ) and board the 22:56 (ish) Blackpool Transport tram service to Fisherman's Walk, arriving at 23:34 Friday evening.

We walk around the corner to the bus stop on Elm Street, where we board the 2349 Blackpool Transport service 14 to Layton (Square), arriving there at 0024 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

We then board the 00:33 Blackpool Transport service 9 to Blackpool, by Central Library, arriving at 00:41 Saturday morning.

We walk to North Pier and get the 00:53 Blackpool Trams service to Starr Gate, arriving at 01:10 Saturday morning.

Waiting overnight here, we then board the 06:00 Blackpool Transport tram service to North Pier, arriving at 06:17 Saturday morning.

We take the short walk to the bus stops on Clifton Street, where we board the 0630 Blackpool Transport service 7 to Cleveleys (Bus Station), arriving there at 0649 on Saturday morning.

We then board the Blackpool Transport route 7 bus service to 07:15 St Annes (Square), arriving there at 08:05 on Saturday morning.

We take the short walk down the road to St Annes, Ashton Gardens (Stand 8) where at 08:19 we take Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire service 68 as far as University, 53 Degrees (Stop U2) (Fylde Road, Preston) where we arrive at 0913 on Saturday Morning.

We take the twelve minute walk to the railway station, which is just within the permitted 0.5 mile boundary, where we board the 1017 Virgin Trains service 9M51 to Birmingham International, arriving there at 1218 on Saturday afternoon.
