Friday is a bank holiday next week isn't it?
Whereas Thursday is Maundy Thursday, the busiest evening peak of the whole year.
I've seen a document at work relating to the introduction of the VT 11 car 390s with all of the diagrams stipulated on a week-by-week basis. IIRC, 1K39 is a priority from week 1.
The arrangements are under a usual week:
Mon-Thurs;
1K39 1843 Euston-Crewe (11 car Pendo)
1G40 1903 Euston-Birmingham New Street (A pair of 221s)
Fridays:
1K39 1843 Euston-Crewe (Class 90+Mk3s)
1P05 1846 Euston-Preston (11 car Pendo)
(from AndyS on another forum)

I thought that! The 5 221 will go to strengthen another 5 221 working, so I think thats why![]()
hi does anyone know if virgin will keep this set on when the new franchise starts with the new 390's they have had delivered![]()

When does this schedule commence - particularly the 1K39 Mon-Thurs 11 car Pendolino?
Thanks
14:30pm Euston - Lancaster yesterday was 11 car pendolino as was the return working[/QUO
I'm sure it wasn't I would have known and TRUST says pendolino 054 is still 9 coaches
Thanks - I assumed it was starting yesterday, ...
so complete with camcorder waited at MKC from 19.00 through to 20.15 and saw no 11 car Pendolinos... At least I learnt a little more about the controls on my camcorder.
Fairly sure it's already finished I'm afraid. The May 2012 issue of Today's Railways UK has a piece on p63 saying the Pretendolino will be stopped for two weeks at the end of April:
"The Virgin loco-hauled Mark 3 set will undergo a 2-week E exam at the end of April, during which its regular Friday turn (the 18.43 Euston-Crewe) is expected to be worked by a Voyager."
Any ideas when exactly that'll be? And any word on whether the Pretendolino is out tomorrow? I was thinking of getting 1K39 tomorrow if it is...

Sorry I was going by twitter with a few people saying 'they were doing what could be the last ever Prentendolino' a few weeks ago.You should read the thread then: 1K39 is planned to stay loco-hauled on a Friday until the end of the franchise in December.
90049 on the set this weekend, including a footex Liverpool-Euston on Saturday.
