Hmm don't know

Apparently the 24th is the last day of Freightliner haulage, then it transfers back to DB. The 25th will be the last day of full time service, and it goes back to Fridays only after that.

Should also be back into full time service in June, for the summer months. It will again revert to Freightliner haulage for this.

This coming from the 90 expert on another forum.

I'd just like to say a huge thanks to everyone who shared info on this; today, I spotted the Pretendolino at New Street, went to Bescot with tripod for a few fruitful hours, then came back to New Street in time to see it again! :D

Was on IG08 and IB32, they had the conductor who sounds like Jack Dee aboard!

And finally everything has been sorted, after VT conducted a view of reliabilty and availability, FL will now be providing Virgin a Class 90 on a full term basis. When it goes back to Fridays only arrangement the following will happen;
- FL 90 will work 0A90 Crewe-Wembley light engine on the Thursday and go onto WB64.
- Then Fridays it'll work 5N42/5A42 driver refresher to Northampton from Wembley and back.
- Then empties to Euston to form 1K39 Euston-Crewe
- FL 90 comes off at Crewe were a VT 57 will take the set empties to Wembley.

From AndyS over on TMR :)

So if I read that right, the loco will be different each Friday?

Remind me - when it's on Fridays only does now do just the 18.43?

Not good - means a late spin up to Coventry every time one of my required locos turns up doesn't it?

Which means I'll get an earful afterwards.....

What? Have they switched 044 out overnight for one of my three required ones? If they have it'll have to stick until Friday - I'm at work!

Went out Friday night for 90041 on 1K39. (Evening ticket Coventry to International is £2 - bargain!) The departure board at Coventry was displaying arrival time 10 minutes late. The train arrived even later than this and trundled to International. The driver seemed to be taking things very gently.

Very rare event on the train thought - tickets were checked en route!!

Need to repeat the trip now as 90044 is out this week on the usual diagram.

Has anyone got times for this for tomorrow, if it's out? Thanks.
Usual diagram is:
0703 Euston - Birmingham
0850 Birmingham - Euston
1043 Euston - Birmingham
1230 Birmingham - Euston
1443 Euston - Birmingham
1630 Birmingham - Euston
1843 Euston - Crewe

No idea for definite if it will be out but I expect it will be.

044 was on it today, doing a sterling job.
I know not many will agree with me, but to me it really did bring home how in all the years that have passed since the Mk3s were built, we havent managed to improve on them from a passenger comfort perspective.
I just wish Virgin would look after the Mk3 set slightly better. Things like litter bin doors not shutting properly etc etc.
