In answer to the query raised about the Lamington Viaduct, those works do not span the full entirety of a timetable period, so cannot be noted in the RED SECTION which is at the foot of the rules section of the very first posting on this quiz.

The latest news from Network Rail say that it will be expected that the required works at the Lamington Viaduct will now not be completed prior to early March. so I see where the two sections of the rules can be confusing. It all depends what you think the type of works on the Lamington Viaduct should be described as.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Re: the earlier discussion regarding the ongoing problems at Lamington. The precedence on this thread is that "engineering work" has always meant pre-planned and publicly advertized. Rule 1 was applied when the line through Dawlish was closed for an extended period in similar, weather-related circumstances.

Therefore, the following routes may be considered 'out-of-bounds':

Dover Priory to Folkestone Central (closed until further notice)
Lockerbie to Carstairs (closed until Monday 29th February)

Currently there are also weather-related closures still ongoing elsewhere. National Rail Enquiries is currently advising that these will all be resolved by the end of January. Therefore, unless closure is further extended beyond the end of this month, the following routes are still in play:

Prudhoe to Hexham
Girvan to Stranraer
Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog

I'll PM adtrainz to ask him to update the Red Section accordingly.

When you say "the other two", were you thinking of the three stations of Wedgwood, Barlaston and Norton Bridge in the Midlands, who all have not been closed as yet, but do not receive any rail services?

Perhaps an adjudicator could come to your assistance on that matter that you have raised and give clarification.

If you can't catch a regular timetabled train to the station, it doesn't count. We'll have no bustitutions on this quiz, thank you!
