This one seems to have gone quiet for a few days. I'm afraid I've already given the required five clues. All I can now say is that there are not many lines which cross the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire - only three that I can think of, if you don't count the parts of Greater Manchester which used to be in Lancashire - so that whittles it down to one of six stations either side of the county boundary.

OK Folks. Based on the clues already given, it has to be one of the following six stations:

Burnley Manchester Road
Todmorden
Clitheroe
Hellifield
Bentham
Wennington

If nobody has come up with the correct station by 22 00 tonight, I shall give the answer and declare 'open floor'.

Yes....well done! The adjacent factory is HCB-Angus, who make fire engines, hoses, sprinklers systems, extinguishers and all manner of other anti-incendiary products. Parallel with the railway on the Up side at the Wennington end is the 200 metre-long hose testing tunnel, in which newly-manufactured fire hoses are rolled out and filled from one end with high-pressure superheated steam in order to detect the smallest of leaks.

Your turn to join Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb on a very slow fire engine with clanging bell!

Given I only got it based on a combination of your extra hints and Street View (I'd completely forgotten about the Bentham Line), I don't feel I deserve this one: open floor.

None of the above...

(1) this station has two platforms
(2) this station is served by one TOC
(3) Direct road access to this station is at the end of a country lane that is approx 0.8 mile long.
