I'm stumped on this one. I don't think Matlock works because the original Peak Rail station, which I think is your thinking, was called Matlock Riverside. Ardrossan was electrified at about the same time as Ayr, so fails clue 1.

The answer is Sheringham, which replaced, and is connected to Sheringham station on the North Norfolk railway in order that the level crossing between them might be closed.
Unless it is a lower league county cricket venue I've not thought of, I'm stumped. Everywhere I can think of that otherwise fits is served by either 2 or 3 TOCs. I might get it with the fifth clue.
