Exactly the same thought process as me then. I do think Matlock as a branch terminus is now on slightly dodgy ground though now that the connection to Peak Rail is back in and operational.

I've copied the rule that is relevent below:
"The Turn Player must set five clues that clearly match the station he has chosen. These clues must become progressively clearer as the game goes on, to the point that come the final clue only a select few stations are still viable options (there is no obligation to reduce the number of possibilities to just one however)."
You have set 5 clues, and they have progressively eliminated options. As of the final clue, there are only 5 stations I can think of which match the clues (Belper also has a limited service on the mainline). In my opinion, 5 counts as a few so you satisfy the rules, though others may or may not disagree.

The term "few" is undefined but I would suggest that having five options at the end is perfectly reasonable; this isn't a case of "five" though. And - without meaning to sound obnoxious - my response is what matters

What was the answer anyhow?

4SRKT - I'll explain the rules in a simplified manner if need be. The way they were laid out in the PDF was deliberately professional.

I think you have merely managed to miss a rule, I don't think it that complicated. You just didn't realise that there were to just be 5 clues. I agree, it was a good, thought provoking set and I would welcome more of the sort.

Can I make a suggestion for clue 1, instead of saying its west of Lowestoft, South of Wick etc could we say its either inbetween 2 stations within reasonable distance or the country its in (for example Wolverhampton is the answer, clue 1 could be either this station is in England or this station is between Coventry and Carlisle)

South of Brum is a whole lot more specific than Penzance/Wick/Lowestoft though.

In this case I don't want to give away (too early) what line(s) the station is on

Next clue - 3. No station directly serving a international airport has through trains stopping at this station, a little unexpectedly perhaps
