Clue 5:
This station is in the validity area of at least one rover/ranger (it comes in both forms) which is railcard discountable but not by a Network railcard in addition to the ALR.

I would call Whittlesey a suburb of Peterboro myself, but since it's the wrong answer it hardly matters.

Does anyone know why the station is spelled 'WhittleseA' BTW?

Actually, speaking of Derby Road, Derby Road? This is of course assuming that freight changes happen at Ipswich.

Is the correct answer. Many Freighliners out of Felixstowe change engines to have a leccie via Stratford onto the WCML.

I don't know the reason for the mis-spelling, I have wondered about it myself in the past.

I don't know either - it's an anomaly, like the many locations that have hyphenated suffixes in their real name either edited or "de-hyphenated" on the railway. What I do know though is that I agree that no Penalty should be applied here. However, I will note that - as 4SRKT (of all people) should know - coming under any given location's Post Code and Post Town doesn't automatically make them a suburb. There is a distinct gap between Peterborough and Whittlesey; the latter isn't even in the former's authority area.

Also, I have come to the decision that, effective at midnight tonight, the Penalty for a dud clue shall be increased to six points. Previous Penalties applied for this will not be affected.

I'm going for the trial being penalty fares. I don't know where the trial took place, but I do have details of some of the earlier schemes. Let's try Southend Central, the LTS would be a good place for such a trial.
