Shenfield isn't a terminus station. There's a difference between "terminus" and "station where trains terminate".
Come to think of it, I think there were actually six options (three on each side). Either way, no-one said Clacton-on-Sea.
Until Sonic turned up at the last second anyway

It was, until a few years ago (2007 maybe?). Fambridge was given the prefix "North" at the same time; said change was also how I learned of TLCs, strangely enough, as even the local rag stated it was changing from FAM to NFA.
Clacton-on-Sea was the answer I required. Missing out the "-on-Sea" does not deem your answer invalid and therefore the floor is yours.
I was in the process of typing my final message for that round when you answered and therefore I missed it until I had already posted. It is a weakness of the vBulletin software, as opposed to phpBB which allows you to revise posts in response to new ones.

I'm not sure you'd say long-distance trains stop there "occasionally" - VT run a minimum of 1tph each way!

That's just it. There are little-used lines around there, but not any parliamentaries to my knowledge. Not unless the curves between Brighouse and Mirfield, and between Brighouse and Sowerby Bridge, count as parliamentary routes.

The answer I was looking for was Bare Lane. The parlimentary service being the early morning TPE service via Hest Bank and the longer distance services being Leeds-Morecambe services and TPE
