I don't think there's anything to beat the Leicester and Burton line, at 30 miles.

Dunfermline-Alloa is 17 miles, Saltburn to Boulby Mine is 12 miles.

Not as long as examples above, Stillington Line is just over 7 miles, is Stilligton still in use these days...

If the Leamside Line ever reopened for freight, that would be quite long, about 35 miles

The old Pill branch which now runs to Portishead Docks is 7 miles long approx

Sheet Stores to Stenson is 13 miles. Only occasional diversions and ECS.

The Stillington line is still open. I travelled on it earlier in the year on a charter.

SRS website has it down as 10m 23ch from Neath & Brecon Junction - Onllwyn Junction, with a further 1m 59ch to the colliery boundary.

Chinley North Junction to Buxton via Peak Forest and Great Rocks totals 11m 22ch, although this is arguably two joined lines.

Out of use but still in the Sectional Appendix, Glebe Street Junction to Caldon Quarry via Leek is 18m 62ch.

The first bit from Glebe to Endon is still a jungle, the rest is useable and in some use by the Churnet Valley Railway.

Erm, the Leamside line is ^only^ 18 miles (give or take)... 35 miles is all the way from Newcastle to Darlington.

i put Ferryhill as i thought that would be easier for the layman to understand then changed it to Thursdale to be accurate - you aren't the only one to walk it all. It is far enough on foot
