As an alternative to the direct service by this TOC, you can use an alternate TOC and follow the same route and change twice, or take an alternate route and change once, and reach the destination station.

Hull to Sheffield with Northern Rail?

This meets the clues as you could follow the same route by travelling from Hull to Brough on First Transpennine, then Brough to Doncaster on Hull Trains, then Doncaster to Sheffield on First Transpennine or Cross Country.

Alternatively, you could change once at Leeds or York.

Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth Harbour

BRI is large but not electrified; PMH is an interchange with bus and ferry services. Otherwise, the alternate TOC would be SWT (changing at Salisbury and Southampton Central if using the same route, or Basingstoke if not), and the other station would *probably* be Bath Spa but might be Oldfield Park. Finally, the service is usually run by 158s, but 150s appear on occasion. Needless to say, both are DMUs.

Oh, and Starmie is Water/Psychic

Bristol to Portsmouth Hbr is correct. I had the dubious pleasure of doing this on Friday. It was a 150, and completely packed out leaving Bristol. Not a fun trip to do when you're stuck in a small gap between someone's armpit and the toilet

Weeley is correct; Liverpool Street is not. It should now be impossible to get the remainder of this question wrong, given there is only one option out there - an option which (and this is a clue by the way) is rarely possible direct, as is true from LST.

• At the moment three diffrent types of trains can be used in diffrent combinations between these two stations
• Both the starting and finishing station are AC electicfied
• The traction we use is not rolling stock that can take power from overhead AC wires.
• While on this journey we pass a place famous for making snacks
