Reading to Wolverhampton?
And you need to give another clue as wellStill incorrect, prehaps i should expand on Clue 2: When i say not in order, i mean the platforms do not follow the order the first platform is one, the second platform is two etc, prehaps this will help people
And you need to give another clue as well
have edited the post all ready, but the 5th clue is: From the train we view A park and ride site and a power station
London St Pancras to Leeds?
no, that's incorrect..
I first thought of Birmingham-Cambridge.
The start is electrified.
The park & ride is Coleshill Parkway.
The power station would be Nechells, perhaps.
The traction is Cl170s
The semaphores are around Melton Mowbray/Oakham
The platforms at Cambridge are not numbered in numerical order.
Then you added the clue re swing-bridges. Are there any such between Birmingham and Cambridge?
So I then thought of London Kings Cross-Hull.
The start is electrified.
Stevenage was intended as a park & ride for the M25.
There are Trent Valley power stations visible from the EC line between Newark and Retford.
The traction is Cl.180s
There are, I believe, one or two semaphores remaining around Brough.
Hull seems to be missing a platform 1.
There is one swing bridge at Selby, and one on the Doncaster-Hull route via Goole, which is sometimes used as a diversionary route. Is there one on the approaches to Hull?
The Finishing point for this journey has Platforms which are not in order. Lowestoft is missing a platform 1
Not a very satisfactory clue - the platforms it has got are in order.
This quiz does seem to attract dodgy clues. Multiple possible answers - OK - but multiple interpretations isn't IMV
I think we are travelling from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe on the 0511 XC service to Bournemouth. Jodrell Bank being the (astro) physics association
I think we might be going from Stonehaven to Birmingham New Street on the 08:20 XC departure from Aberdeen
Are we going from Howden to Liverpool Lime Street on a TPX 170?

If you look, i did add an additional bit below about what i meant by that clue.

Yes I did see that - and still didn't cotton on - sorry. I was fixated by Oxford where the order is 3-1-2 and looking unsuccessfully for other examples whre numbers are out of order rather than just missing

This seems to be getting nowhere
One last clue before abandoning it: Sonic2009 might find this an easy one
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
1. This journey starts at an unstaffed halt served by 3 TOCs
2. It is possible as a through journey only in one direction
3. It is operated by DMUs though it passes through 4 separate electrified areas, the destination station being in the fourth
4. It's possible to reach the destination station earlier departing on the same train and changing en route to a different route
OK the answer - the 0728 from Ashchurch for Tewkesbury to Stansted Airport
Unstaffed, served by XC, FGW and (once a week) LM
170's I think, passing through the Birmingham area, Nuneaton Peterborough and Cambridge
If you change at Brum and travel via London you get to Stansted about 15 minutes earlier
there were branch lines to Malvern and Redditch
the 0521 Great Malvern to Paddington will be calling in the next timetable
and Sonic is from the area and has posted about using the station
Open Floor
I thought that XC called at a seperate unelectrified pair of platforms at Nuneaton.

Sevenoaks to London St Pancras?
