I've applied for three bridges.

I rang 020 7023 4313

Keep trying to ring that number! Sadly keeps going to voicemail.
I think it says something like, 'Katrina service'

Is that deffo the number you rang?

Thanks

^ I'm in the same boat as you, very frustrating not knowing where we stand, if it's a rejection it would be just courteous to let us know either way.

I agree with you totally. Its just the fact we are waiting start dates and have heard nothing of the sort!
They really do need to let us know asap.

I'm going to keep trying to ring them!

Did you not receive the update email this month? If they had some news I'm sure they would contact you and anyone else.

I waited for over 18 months for my training to start - you have to be patient!

There appears to be a lack of trainers so the schools cannot start just yet - just get on with everyday life and when you get the call it will be great news and the hard work can commence.

I really hope for some news in the next week. It's just weird that you've got a guy who randomly got a King's Cross course for Nov 30. Do they do it by Depot or just fill up courses on the basis of medical dates and then chuck you out as and when?

I want to know the logic behind the course allocation as i passed everything first week of June. Should have asked this during my DMI really.

Friday feeling :) ***phone on loud***

Got a feeling it's a mix of Depot and Assessment date that they allocate, there's a chap on here called Wivers008 and looking back through the many threads about GTR, he passed his DMI early August, and then has now started at the Cambridge Depot, I think this week?
So maybe if there's not many for a certain Depot you get chosen ahead of others who have been waiting longer if you live closer?

GTR had to place an advert for cambridge drivers in late september / october, and I believe Wivers008, told HR that he was suitable for cambrdige and they gave him a date, classic example of if you dont ask you dont get lol

But with start dates for other depots e.g Bedford it seems they havent based the allocation on DMI or medical pass dates, as GTR gave dates to a few posters who passed in June where as me here i passed everything in May and am still waiting.

Who knows how they do it... It's unlikely to be by medical date though otherwise that would mean that those of us who have not been given a medical are destined never to be called.
Also am I right in thinking that Dottypea was a late applicant and has already 'jumped the queue' by being allocated a place? If so, trying to work out their selection process is beyond my feeble comprehension.

Sounds unfair.

Passed my medical on Thursday, pending drugs test (which isn't going to be an issue!). Just waiting now for the nod from hr for a start date and contract

Im in the talent pool awaiting a start date for trainee driver with GTR and have been for some months now, would it go against me if I were to apply for the LOROL trainee job? What I mean is would LOROL contact GTR to question what the situation is with myself or is this unlikely?

No it should not. However RSSB stipulates that you must inform GTR if you wish to apply to other TOC's.

So phone GTR and tell them that but make it clear they are still your first and preferred choice. I think similar thing happened to ml with FGW but is now starting with GTR.

Hi,

Just to clear things up. I never contacted HR asking for any depot. I was contacted by them and asked if I would be prepared to work at Cambridge depot.
I have no idea how they work the allocation out, all I know is I started my training 3 weeks ago and it's all cool.

Good luck to those waiting.
