Firstly, apologies for that bad grammar. 0400 is a bad time to be both awake and coherent.
If you have been given a start date then I don't see how that would be a problem as it would have to be already included and agreed in the budget. If you've had no word about a start date and you're in the 'talent pool' then expect a long wait. Its also been rumoured that they've hired too many drivers, particularly on the GN route. Railway rumours hold no great stead though.

Believe me, I have better things to do that write sh*t about the company that pays my wages, but that was in a brief that was given across the network this week and I know how rubbish it is to wait for a job. They are allowed to advertise, with closing dates. They'll simply close the job on the closing date then, when they have authority, they'll start an interview process. They don't care how long it will take though. People have had interviews for jobs internally, effectively got the jobs, but can't go any further with it due to the freeze. Its internal and external. For all roles. Except safety critical dispatch/platform staff.
You don't have to believe me, but I made an account to share this information with you. I have no reason to lie to anybody. Once you're in the railway as far as I'm concerned, you're part of the family.
But I'd wait for Abellio driver vacancies!

Call HR then, they'll have to confirm it if asked. They just would have been told to not publicly advertise it.
If you need a contact number, just let me know!
