Does anyone know whats going on at the moment, I dont get it had medicals done and everything was told that they WILL place me on a course its been months and months, will new courses be coming in 2016? as on a side note I Saw on another thread about a piece which BBC look east did on GTR's driver shortage and they are saying that theres 200 drivers in training already, and the driver shortage will significantly improve by Spring 2016 , found a brief clip ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p037vnhf

Rail operator Govia Thameslink says it hopes the problems with driver shortages will significantly improve by the spring.

It’s embarked on the biggest recruitment and training programme in the UK rail industry, with more than 200 currently undergoing training.

Steve Wright Govia Thameslink’s Head of Training says the company is working “flat out” to get the drivers online, but says safety is the top priority.

No idea but I'm fully expecting my "progression " to consist of being sent for medical (if ever) and then dumped straight back in the talent pool for another lengthy wait. My previous experience of being in a talent pool was 10 years ago and I never heard anything since. I can only presume I never got that job.

They were on the bottom signature of Emails from Ronke in GTR Recruitment, when I recieved emails saying I had passed both stage 2 and DMI.

Can't say who I got the info from, but I know of someone who should be starting as a Driver Instructor in the new year and if you look on the website GTR Railway Careers, there are 4 positions for Instructors at the moment so they are still recruiting them.

On the three bridges thread i read Lindsey is on sick leave and is shortly to go on MATL, but not sure if this is accurate, but if it is then we will be having a new contact in HR if Lindsey will be off for a prolonged period

On good information Ronke left some time ago now and lyndsey is now on maternity leave. So someone else will be heading up the recruitment team but I dont know who. If courses are due to be filled in January then surely they will have to notify people soon. Fingers crossed..........again!!

I waited 3 years to get on a course so I know how frustrating it is but stop worrying so much! They have had loads of courses this year and from what I've heard it's gona be the same next year.
If they have spent the money putting you through the medical I'd be pretty confident ul get on a course it's just a very slow process!

They do have courses. We will be on a course within the next 3 to 4 months. That's what I was told. 3 to 4 months from January.
It will be Ok. Just need to stop stressing.

On the drugs screening I was told if you don't hear anything assume you passed so if you haven't heard it's a good thing
