Hi, i had my DM interview Friday afternoon and recieved a letter today saying i was being placed in the talent pool untill dates for courses were finalized starting october>2016. At which point i would be processed - ( i assume this means asked for medical when they have a date for Me.)

I applied for Hitchin as first choice but as im within an hour of all 4 depots said i was flexible.

I must admit that I'm getting very nervous whether or not anything will come of it, now. Hopefully all of you have said we're all definitely getting on courses are right!! Still no date for the medical but I guess up to this point everything has been exceptionally quick (heard I'd passed the interview the next day). It's like being in limbo!

I believe it is, the one that I had stated "At present we are waiting on a confirmation of training courses from October onwards into 2016. When we have details of a vacancy that we can offer you we will be in touch to progress you for a medical and progress you accordingly."

Not a typo as such but however you are right, October>2016 is meant to read as October to 2016, as opposed to October 2016.

A fried of a friend passed the process a couple of months ago and is due to start at the KingsCross depo in September so people are getting picked up and processed for sure:D

Hi everyone,
I passed my medical in back in June and was told I'll probably be on a course in October. Has anyone else on here who passed a medical round that time got a start date yet? It was for GTR based at Bedford. Getting nervous now.

I applied in February. I'm waiting by the letter box every morning! I hope it's soon.

Didn't realise there was applicants from back in Feb! When did you guys pass your medicals? I had mine in June.

Applied in Feb, assessments in April, DMI 1st June and medical 2 weeks later. For selfish reasons I hope they allocate courses based on application date but I don't think they will, I think it'll be based on interview passes.

Almost exactly the same dates as me altho my medical was subsequently canx and rearranged for mid July

Hi everyone, nice to see a lot of like minded people guarding the letterbox and constantly checking their emails. I too am in the talent pool and Bedford my closest and preferred station. Sadly I have no update to add, it seems as though we are all pretty much getting the same information. If what has been said has not changed and October is the new intake I would hazard a guess at receiving some fresh information by end of next week to give enough time for notices etc.

I think they give you roughly 5 weeks notice, so yes as you say the end of next week should be the start of fresh communication, I hope! Welcome to the forum :)

Last correspondence I had with them, I asked how much notice would we receive. I was told they factor in what we told them in DMI, so use that as a benchmark date guys.

Remember, altho Oct seems to be the starting point in most peoples predictions, not everybody is going to start in Oct. So if, for example, they have your name down to start in Nov, and you told them 4 weeks notice with your current employer, you may not receive a start date til first week of Oct.

Just trying to add a bit of realism folks. Also, not to worry if some people receive a start date in next few weeks for Oct and others don't. Not everybody will start in Oct ( if indeed Oct is accurate!! )

Bucko absolutely. The ball should start rolling for some of us soon though, for others, it could be a long wait. My only issue is that I'm really unhappy in my current job and am literally chomping at the bit to leave, but as we all know by now it's a long game! At least we have jobs I suppose :)
