hi is there much in the quarry to see in the way of locos and wagons

There are usually wagons about, plus some sort of central cab shunting locomotive (Bo-Bo?) works there. Can be seen easily from the Skipton to Grassington Road. I usually get criticised by the wife on trips into Upper Wharfedale for not concentrating on the road as we pass the quarry and I look to see what's going on......

That'll be this beast that was sat up there when I was up that way about 3 years ago. http://www.tc37372.southtpe.co.uk/Shunter 4.JPG

That's Cracoe, a 1999 RFS Doncaster built Co-Co beast, fitted with a Caterpillar 504hp engine and weighing more than a class 66...

She was delivered by road and had to be built on sight using a crane as she was too heavy to be delivered in one go. The bogies came first, then the engine and finally the body...

I think you meant built on "site" ;)
Yeh theres normally a few bits kicking about so chance for photos off the train. Not sure if a stone train will be allowed at the terminal at the same time...

coach f seats 27b and 28b, not that wensley and I will be sat down at all...

Not for the branch section anyway. We aren't dribbling window hangers but you might as well make use of droplights when they are available - either that or retreat to the buffet

Fingers crossed for an 'interesting' pair of Skips!

route is mostly all I am doing the tour for as the 67's will no doubt be one of the many I have had on FGW diagrams. mmm 16 and 17 must be due to be reunited again soon they have been apart far too long.

Haven't got a clue where I'm sat, but you'll probably find me at a window, Quail Map in hand, camera around neck. I'll post where I'm sitting when I know. Anyone feel free to pop along and say hi, don't think I can make the pre-tour meet up, but I'll be around.

I'm somewhere in D, although I expect to be near a window for most of the journey.

Hi, Just a request if anyone has timings for Skipton and up the branch to Rylstone?
I know the timings at York have been confirmed at 11.45am and leaves at 17.19pm.
I was calculating around 1.30/2pm.
Thanks in advance.

Right here we go, timings for the York-Rhylstone-York leg of the tour. I've not seen these anywhere else so I thought it'd be helpful to share them.

Given alot of slack there on the return between Skipton & Leeds. 1 hour to do 26miles.

Hopefully the signalman will see common sence and let us go infront of the 1548 Skipton-Leeds local. Should be a good tour.
