Sadly, this is not the case. You have a strong tendency to berate people (often in a rather garbled manner, too) for a multitude of reasons. It would be good if some members did not become so defensive and curt to other members over so many issues.

Decided to delete.

Yet again this forum hates those who know what they are talking about (que the attacks on me again).

I think the difficulty is that lots of people on here know what they're talking about, and my impression is you seem to have a problem with this.

Despite us having clashed on many occasions, I for one welcome your postings, your facts, your views and your opinions. However that doesn't mean one has to agree, and this is where there seems to be a problem. Just post what you believe to be facts, and let people make up their own minds - no one can have a problem with this.

We have certainly had our animated discussions that I have also found interesting and made me consider things you have presented. Perhaps I need some time to think about things away from here.

I understand one's frustration sometimes when someone doesn't know what you know, or understand something the way you do, but the main thing is that when here we stick to the forum rules we've agreed to, in particular the very first of them (quoted in last post); ie. remain friendly and respectful.

I think it's something we should just all agree to and move on, no? Life's too short to be angry! ;)

Actually all the diagrams are hand typed by myself and I check as much as I can against the variations for that week so not cut and paste but over an hours work at least per update.

And grateful we are too, thanks for taking the trouble each time.

However in his defence he did state it was in jest.! ;)

I find myself wondering - is there a way that diagrams like these could be sticked somewhere so the posts could be edited rather than having to produce a new post every time? As it stands I basically find the next train's headcode and search this thread to see if it comes up - it works well enough, but it would presumably save you a lot of effort!

I'm strongly hoping someone with similar dedication will be able to offer something similar for the Class 345 rollout. Class377/5's info has been invaluable for someone who actually quite likes the new units :D

God no, no time there (and I use a two screen set up at home to do it).

Thanks :D

Will update on the next set of diagrams hopefully a bit sooner.

Apologies for not reading back beyond a few pages, but I wondered whether there is an ETA for their introduction onto GN? I assume long before the 717s appear.

May 2017 I believe they will begin running into Kings Cross.

Wont be that much of a delay before the first 700 is in service on GN and first 717 arriving.

Thanks again to Class377/5 for the diagrams. I was out and about more than usual on the Catford Loop this weekend and found myself wondering where they all go at weekends (it's still pretty solid 319s at weekends)!

Mostly driven by SE Drivers at the weekends. ALL their diagrams still have 319 shown and only a handful have been trained so far on 700's

Is there any reason why SE started 700 training recently, especially given that the rest of the network has had 700s for some months already (so the need to train drivers is pretty immediate)?

Because SE training was always second to GTR training needs. Remember we aren't at the 100% of Thameslink drivers ready for 700s just yet so all efforts have been there.

The training diagram has the advantages of allowing training to be delivered hands on.

Diagram TB405 was covered by 2x319 this morning (at least the 0716 Bedford to Sevenoaks) - class 700 problem ?

Few issues overnight plus some alterations due to Core block mixing with new diagrams.

Because SE training was always second to GTR training needs.

And that its a few months behind schedule and that a fair portion of SE Drivers will still be trained on 700's before many Thameslink Drivers are. I would also add that the Sevenoaks route isn't really a priority so SE didn't need to train the Drivers as there was little need. Now 700's are finally seeing the loop there is a need.

Had a couple of TL route learning the other day Orpington-Sevenoaks in case of diversion. They seemed surprised at how bad adhesion was and given I was born in Sevenoaks and know the quirks of the area well how you can get get totally different weather (fog/ice/snow etc) either side of Polhill tunnel.

Leaf fall season is effectively over and its just the winter slips now. Even then, we still suffer quite badly. Over the water slip is almost non existent. There is some, but nothing like what happens SE side.

I was told by a Thameslink DI that their side on a bad day is like a normal day for us <D

I think we won't see how these go through leaf fall till next year. So far, other than various door issues and the constant fear the bloody thing will break down randomly, Drivers seem to like them. I don't think we have seen their true nature yet. Its gonna be fun driving them that's for sure.

Interesting yesterday on the 1638 Blackfriars to Three Bridges, with the PIS from Blackfriars showing the calling pattern as London Bridge, Redhill, Gatwick Airport and Three Bridges - rather premature! Then, at East Croydon, Redhill disappeared from the displayed pattern! The driver had to announce corrections. I think it was 700117.

700117 hasn't even started testing at Wildenrath yet. In fact it's not a live train.

If could have been 700107 or 700017.

Count yourself lucky you were on the 1638 from Blackfriars. The 1658 from Blackfriars (1550 from Bedford) developed a fault at Crystal Palace leading to all its passengers being detrained there. It went on to Three Bridges depot empty about 30 minutes afterwards. The return working appears to have picked up again at Three Bridges but don't know whether that was the same unit or not.

Ouch! RTT gives "a problem with the on-board safety systems" as the reason for curtailment. Any idea what this actually was?

BTW, I forgot mention before that the 1638 ran oddly slowly (40mph-ish) from Blackfriars under green signals, and absolutely crawled through the Tulse Hill - East Croydon section, under a mixture of yellows, double yellows, and greens. Even under greens we hardly got above 15mph. When we reached Redhill, the door buttons in the last coach showed out of service for about 20 seconds before releasing, so we had to move forward to alight.
