I had assumed that there were sockets but I couldn't see I'm afraid. The kettle was a whole bay from the vestibule, though....

The litter is just for testing to make sure that the class 700 can extra load weight....

It is interesting to note that it is running with a more conventional headlight setting in that photo compared to previous ones. It also looks like quite a spread the technicians have got their, including a kettle!

As travelling at speed, the noise from inter car connectors is the as a 377 with inter carriage doors closed.

The seats on 700106 were all still in their white protective covers/packaging when i took the pictures above and there has been a bit of a running joke that they look even worse than the seats in the excel centre mockup since then...

Personally I quite like the interiors of the 700s, the seats may turn out to be a little cramped but the overall feeling of spaciousness looks to be excellent

Indeed, so I assume they're all in first class then - as presumably a lot of people doing the testing will have noticed the lack of anywhere to place any of those items elsewhere on the train...

That might be so on an empty train. It certainly won't be true when they enter service and there is, for example, a screaming baby in the adjacent carriage. Needless to say, on a 377 or 365 you wouldn't hear the noise with the doors closed.

It's not much of an issue on S stock. Plus, as the trains are walk through and are 8-12 carriages long, there is quite likely to be somewhere more quiet to move to.

Good to hear - thanks. At least on these, the inter-carriage doors aren't going to fail and get locked open!

In 12 years of commuting on the trains the 700s will replace, I have encountered 3 screaming babies. And one of those was mine, so I couldn't relocate to the next coach, much though I wanted to.

If I remember correctly, I've experienced more screaming babies in first class on Pendolinos than I have on all the 377s I've travelled on!

The paths will only appear about 24 hours before they run... Pretty sure that's been said at least once before.
