There was no way a Sprinter unit wouldn't be preserved.
Hope it's in relatively good condition.

Amusingly it was actually The Greatest Gathering who leaked this a week or two ago, swiftly removing it from their Facebook page after someone presumably told them it wasn't supposed to be made public yet! My understanding is that it was originally to be 150235, which remains the number on the replacement Facebook post dated 20 June. Some news from The Mid Hants Railway that will surprise some. Thanks to Porterbrook, 150321 will be preserved on the Watercress Line.
The two attached images are of the text above and of 150231 in Sprinter livery at Derby.

Would be great if one example of all Sprinters gets preserved, like the Pacers they have been extremely important for British Railways over the past 40 years. There was no way a Sprinter unit wouldn't be preserved.

I was really hoping that TfW would put one of their 150s in the original "Sprinter" livery as a nod to their 40+ years of service on the Valleys, but it looks like they are just running the fleet down before sending the 150s for scrap. Some news from The Mid Hants Railway that will surprise some. If they were to do that the fire damaged units would've been most likely.I was really hoping that TfW would put one of their 150s in the original "Sprinter" livery as a nod to their 40+ years of service on the Valleys, but it looks like they are just running the fleet down before sending the 150s for scrap.
Didn't get a very good photo, but it looks like it's falling apartThe tape on the cab roof corner is slightly concerning...
Going for once last big jolly.....she's being switched off from Tuesday150257 worked 1W85 2121 Cardiff - Chester today as far as Shrewsbury. A very rare these days appearance of a 150 on the Marches south of Craven Arms.
Surprisingly it's actually on 2M10 which finishes at Shrewsbury Abbey forgate sidings. I assume tomorrow it'll work the canton terminator?Going for once last big jolly.....she's being switched off from Tuesday
Must be which would be 1835 Shrewsbury to Swansea as last passenger working for itSurprisingly it's actually on 2M10 which finishes at Shrewsbury Abbey forgate sidings. I assume tomorrow it'll work the canton terminator?
It failed at Sugar Loaf earlier https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:G57494/2025-08-12/detailedNot the most ideal send off for 257 with it's last expected service (2E99) being cancelled due to a fault according to RTT.
Probably one of the worst places for it to fail due to its remoteness! It failed at Sugar Loaf earlier https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:G57494/2025-08-12/detailed
Certainly is! It got going again and has made it back, currently in Cardiff Central for the last time as an operational unit before heading to Canton via Pengam.Probably one of the worst places for it to fail due to its remoteness!

Arrived in Landore from Canton on 4th AugustWhen did 150213 go?
I completely missed that one going. C6 is not up until September. It's last passenger run was 2B46 1154 Pontypridd to Cardiff Bay on 30/07/25. It terminated at Cardiff Queen Street and then went to Canton so presumably quite a serious fault that wasn't worth repairing. When did 150213 go?
Currently at Unimetals Newport but not scrapped are 150229 (arrived last week, forgot which day) and 150253 which has just arrived today at approximately 1600. Suspect both will be cut up sooner or later, although Unimetals are currently going through a lot of rolling stock at the same time!Withdrawn are 14 of them: 213, 227, 229, 230, 231, 235, 236, 237, 240, 250, 253, 255, 257, 281
