150227, already withdrawn, was visible at Canton on 14 September. Debranded but some car lights were on.
That is not true. C4 are mileage based. C6 are based on dates.
That sounds reasonable enough. Does anyone here know whether TfW are currently doing surveys and C6 extensions where applicable to avoid the cost of having to do the extensive corrosion repairs on their outgoing units to help 'tide them over' until the electric Metro fleets can be brought into service? That can and does happen - C6 extensions can be carried out, it requires a survey of the vehicle. There will be a point however where nobody will agree to sign another extension without the work being completed.

227, 230, 236, 237, 281 withdrawn
242 & 279 still away from craven arms
Unsure if TfW really are able to let them all go by December, there won't be enough of the newer ones in! Not to mention the 398s being delayed again! Thanks a lot.
Going to try and get over to Wales for a 4 day stint hunting them down in December (I know, lovely time for a trip away) so hopefully the rest cling on until the end of the year
I think there is no chance of the 150s all going by December. I think there are quite a few booked working for them still in the December timetable.Unsure if TfW really are able to let them all go by December, there won't be enough of the newer ones in! Not to mention the 398s being delayed again!
Yeah I thought so, sure you'll have 756s and 231s on the valleys, but that won't be enough to get rid of all of em! 398s are required to give them a final kick and move the 231s out of there!I think there is no chance of the 150s all going by December. Shows internally that it formed; https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:15448/2024-10-09/detailed on Wednesday and Is now formed 52279+57242.Seen online 150279 hybrid had A test run 5Z79 the other day.
So presumably these are the carriages not damaged in the respective incidents with the 2 units?Shows internally that it formed; https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:15448/2024-10-09/detailed on Wednesday and Is now formed 52279+57242.
Believe that was the idea that the least damaged would return first. So presumably these are the carriages not damaged in the respective incidents with the 2 units?
Are the remaining carriages from them now officially formed under 150242?
I think so! I've been wondering why. Maybe the place the excess vegetation hits them?Do they all have that black tape/filler on the front top right?
The off lease ones are going to Sims in Newport. 150236 and 150281 have gone already. Is there any word on what will happen to the 150s? Further use elsewhere, or will they be turned into razor blades?
That actually does make me a bit sad. I was working on the CVL in and out of a depot office on the Merthyr Line, and developed a strange fondness for the 150s! (not a popular opinion, I know!)The off lease ones are going to Sims in Newport. 150236 and 150281 have gone already.

150281 was on 14th August. 150236 a few weeks later. I don't have the exact date but digging through Railways in South Wales or the Sprinter page on Facebook will probably give you the answer. When did they go?
