HD07 forming 1W57 had an issue with the doors at Cardiff so we've left 13 late.

EDIT: Further delayed now at Newport as 2 youths needed to be ejected and apparently now more door issues.

EDIT 2 (11:39): Still at Newport and apparently no power although engine still seems going and passengers for Hereford have just been advised to detrain for another service.

Edit 3: Service cancelled at Newport, loss of motive power apparently . On the plus side a pint of real ale is just £1.49 in the local spoons.

67012 on 1W59 overtime at Shrewsbury, fitter's attention. Going forward to Crewe with fitter on board. Likely to terminate short of Manchester.

HD04 is being taken off 1V50 at Crewe to balance sets for tomorrow due to HD07s problems earlier, would elsewise result in an extra set on Canton.

I left it at Crewe but looks like it got to Manchester.

Now I'm hoping I can still make it to Aberdeen tonight but that's possibly for another thread.

Did they do that in the end?

HD01 is coming off the 18:30 from Manchester.

Just noticed they are using a 2-car as the substitute. At least last week they found a 3-car. 2-car is completely inadequate given how many commute to the stations between Crewe and Shrewsbury (will be fine from there).

197120 is allocated to 5V50 into Canton and has been since 4pm, the swap should've gone ahead.

So that would be two sets of passengers inconvenienced, notwithstanding the fact that the public timetable (at the time of publishing) says 1V50 is a Swansea train.

I note that the 2-car to replace 1V62 will be coming in as part of the Chester shuttle and will therefore leave later.

Reading this thread the impression was that only 1 set needed to be swapped though.

They split the arrival ex Chester in P11, with 3 cars returning to Chester and 2 cars forming 1V50 ex Crewe.

HD07 is already on Canton from its failure earlier (1W57) and 1W63 (HD03) has been kept behind at Canton with electrical issues, meaning it couldn’t work 1W63. This leaves two at Cardiff and that is all it can take under normal circumstances.

Thank you.

Not a great experience for those who had to take shortforms, but at least there were units to cover.

Presumably this means that tomorrow is not looking good for the Canton starts, unless there are fixes for HD07 or HD03.

HD01/67020 was 1V31 diagram, failed at Shrewsbury. DVT not getting power from the loco, so has gone back to Crewe. Not a great start as that loco had only just been put on that set today.

67010/HD03 1W11 Cardiff start

67015/HD05 1W13 Cardiff start

67008/HD06 1V91 Holyhead start

67013/HD07 1V33 Crewe start

Excellent work getting the Cardiff sets out.

Shame one of the others then failed (coincidentally the set that I was on when it was pulled out of service at Crewe).
