Won't be out at all now as no crew to prep the extra set.
Will the rest of that diagram tomorrow also be a unit?

Are the other 4 diagrams (2 from Crewe, 2 from Canton) expected to run?

Yes, expected to be a unit all day now.

All the others are planned out tomorrow.

Thanks as always

RTT still does not know what is forming the 04:32 from Cardiff (or 1W13 and my 1W12 for that matter). It is like the old days of not finding out until the train arrived :)

Answer was a 2-car, though the display at Pontypool was obviously seeing double:

ALT TEXT: Display from Pontypool and New Inn station showing the 06:18 to Manchester as being 4 carriages. It was 2.

Points failure at Shrewsbury means 1W13 will be the first train to make it to Manchester this morning. Good that the Mk4 sets are able to make the shunt across from the bays at Shrewsbury though. Presumably passengers have to get off those too. We had to get off 1W12 then hope to be able to get back onto the train again with all the others who joined at Shrewsbury. A bit better on a 5 carriage than a 2.

Hopefully they get the points fixed.

The MKIVs can't go in the bays, they won't fit. Also not cleared. Coming from Cardiff they can only go in 4 or down the through road.

Do you know how they are getting the Mk4 through, or is platform 4 back open? It was not clear which point was impacted, since 1W12 did use the bay, and the local to Crewe was still being announced on 4.

RTT suggests 1W13 used 4, but was sat in Shrewsbury for long enough to have done the shunt.

I've no idea I'm afraid, I wasn't around. But it's hard to see how it can have been anything other than 4.

1W13 went through the middle at Shrewsbury. Couldn’t call there unfortunately, as the shunt can’t take place with a Mk4, partly as they aren’t cleared for the bays, and the other shunts weren’t available as line blockages would be required to changing ends. W13 changes both driver and guard at Shrewsbury so I imagine they were sorting arrangements for that.

It didn't call Salop and used the through road but sat there for 15 minutes for some reason.

Thanks, that would explain it. You can change crews on the through road if necessary but it's a bit of a faff, especially on the MKIVs.

Thanks for the explanation @MP393

Two weeks ago there were problems at Shrewsbury with the points, hopefully not off-topic to say that I hope the issues are fixable and wont be recurring regularly.

RTT and live departures boards are showing the 1630 Manchester as going to Swansea. However it is showing the service divides at Cardiff Central which implies its being run by a pair of units. I assume this is an error and it is formed of a MK4 going to Cardiff as usual?

I checked RTT for tomorrow and its listed as Swansea again - normally its been amended by now.

Not great considering it's still listed as Swansea on stuff such as National Rail when it clearly isn't! TfW JourneyCheck doesn't have anything to say either!

Hopefully on board it is showing as the correct destination!

1V50 is 67013 Set HD07
RTT has an ECS path in from
Cardiff to Canton & not from Swansea, because it’s only going to Cardiff

"This is due to a short-notice change to the timetable"
Someone's done a bit of a whoopsy then! Probably will be rectified for the future schedules.
