Thanks, is it normal that there are no evening meals on Saturdays, do you know? By the sounds of it is there just breakfast and lunch on a Saturday - is that correct?

Basically, yes. Saturday afternoon/evening (and Sunday) journeys are host only, no chef.

The services expected to run with a restaurant service have the knife and fork in a box icon.

For Saturday, it is the 0539 from Swansea (Cardiff at 0643), then 0854/1053/1253 from CDF. The restaurant service doesn't, at least in my experience, start until Newport.
