Was it one of the 175s officially withdrawn? Or just stood down waiting repairs? Perhaps things are so bad some of the withdrawn 175s have been reinstated temporarily as they are just in Landore, havent actually left TFW yet officially?

009 was used almost daily in recent times but has now disappeared in the last few days.
The ones in Landore won't return to service for TfW as they are there for handback. 010 was definitely to be amongst the next to go though.

I noticed the 0536 Swansea-Manchester was a 3 car 175 this morning. That is a rarity as its usually a 150 that covers when it isnt a MK4.

175003 also appears to be back in service along with 175110 as a 5 car 1634 Holyhead to Cardiff.

A pair of three cars forming a six carriage CDF HHD service it seems.
Looks like 6 cars 175102 and 175109 Cardiff to Chester then swapped for 5 cars 175003 and 175110 from Chester to Holyhead.

Well the 6:42am service from Bridgend to Aberdare was 3 Car 175 this am! I passed it at Dinas Powys! Any reason why they are using these on the Valleys Lines? Only reason I can think of is the daily cancellations - maybe they have been given a warning to improve things? Yet somehow I would think other parts will suffer in the network?

It was swapped at Cardiff Central of course.

Spoke to our fitter today, he was waiting on the gassers to come and put air into it to correct the air pressure and then it can move on of its own accord.

Thanks for the gen :) I was going to investigate last night, but I wanted to get away from the meth-head immediately behind me on the 172! I haven't dashed up that footbridge so fast in a while!

Ive never known a 175 appearing on Bridgend to Aberdare ever (and yes it would obviously be swapped at Cardiff as I doubt 175s are cleared to Queen Street/Valley Lines). But ive never this happen before, only when there is disruption/engineering works and they do work the Vale of Glamorgan then but as a diversion of the mainline service, never on 'Aberdare' booked workings via Cardiff Central. Odd things happening with the 175s in their final days with TFW.

I managed to ride a 3 car 175 today on the 1203 Neath to Cardiff 175100. Sadly my plans did not allow me to ride a Class 197 as I had other plans in Cardiff. I did manage to briefly ride a 231 between Central and Queen Street as I was heading to Cardiff Bay.

I wonder if this was my very last journey on a 175! Hopefully I will get a couple more in before they go. But it was fairly quiet service and went smoothly, no delays, so would be a good one to end with.

175s occasionally appear on Bridgend to Cardiff via Vale services to fill in for 15x fleets when needed. Not so much recently with the shortages though. Its mainline train crew that work the VOG line so makes sense if one happens to be available at the time.

Any idea on the formation of 101 at the moment then?
Posted this in another thread and was told off so copying it over to this one. Just looking for the formation of 175101 as it stands following it's mix with 008 if anyone has that information please?

Frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long to mix and match. Their sister 180 units, the Grand Central ten especially, are the most mixed box imaginable.

There's a few of them mixed and matched for a long time. A couple of 3 cars have coaches from 3 different Units and IIRC there's a 2 car which is the outer coaches from one of the 3 cars.

There seem to be more 175s in service in recent days than there had been for months.

According to RTT 003, 010, 102, 107, 109, 110, 113, 114, 116 are all in service today.

Seems more than it was a few weeks ago so things are improving just as they are about to be withdrawn!

There was a 3 car 175 working between Maesteg and Cheltenham yesterday which seemed a luxury bearing in mind how many 2 car Sprinters were working the longer distance services which were rammed to the rafters!

It's also showing on RTT for 2M12 1819 return from Swansea!

Edit: looks like 2V08 is stopped between Cynghordy and Llandovery. Presumably still the 175?
