Next month maybe Walls Ice Cream should sponsor it, and rename it Cold Street...

When changing between the Great Northern and the Northern Line platforms,
You gotta know when to Old ‘em,
Know when to Fold ‘em
(and know when to walk away, and know when to run… if you didn’t tap in)

That was really origamial, and really creased me up.

They could promote 1970s aftershave by renaming it Old Spice...

How much did TfL get from Samsung to promote Fold Street I wonder? it was a fair wad for the Circle and Search Line a few months ago.

Seriously, after the Burberry Street nonsense TfL are putting wrong station names on official signs all over again?

There was a lot of backlash about Burberry Street, haven’t heard much noise about Fold Street

I think the fact it's just a play on Old Street means it's not a huge deal.
Although I believe it is a full station rebrand which was one of the main complaints of Burberry Street. Not just a roundel here and there but the line diagram at the station and the entrance as well

It is still not the name of the station, so putting it on official signs which should be displaying the station name is misleading. Official signage exist for a reason, and putting misinformation on official signage undermines that reason.

The ad campaign made me realised that the new entrance for Old Street is now open.

It's not misinformation, it's a brand tie in. People get their pants with their twists over things like this, most people don't care.

It is literally saying that the station name is "Fold Street" when it is not. How is this not misinformation?

People get their pants with their twists over things like this, most people don't care.
Using derogatory terms like "People get their pants with their twists" to refer to people people raising legitimate, reasoned concerns is really not helpful.

Fold Street is far more obviously Old Street, than Burberry Street is Bond Street, so less confusing.

Indeed Burberry Street sounds like a real street name.

Likewise Burberry Street is much more obviously a marketing campaign while
Fold Street sounds like a typo and the product/company being marketed is less clear

I don't really see how it is "obvious" to anyone without prior knowledge that you can't guarantee all passengers will have. A quick search of Google Maps shows at least six Fold Streets, nothing making it obviously not the correct name for a station.

Part of the same advertising campaign, made with real bus parts apparently.96e03526-b47a-41e4-b646-2bb9d781a57a-e1721826050453.jpg

Does this campaign help passengers? Truthfully no.

Are many of the same folk complaining about it the very same people who demanded that TfL makes more money?
Absolutely!

You are just making a childish ad hominem attack, not addressing the substance of the legitimate concerns about misinformation on official signs.
