Just seen a pic of a stagecoah wright bodied electroliner in bee network livery, any ideas where they are going? If i remember correctly, fleet number 84251.
I think these new Stagecoach Electroliners are due for Stockport and Oldham has never had Streetdecks unlike Stockport (330) so it does make sense for Oldham to get its own fleet eventually

I think it'll be Evosetis and/or B5LH Gemini 3s off the busway so when the busway Electroliners enter service, then thats when the 163 will get upgraded (downgraded if you dont like evoseti seats)

Stockport need a new depot before they can electrify, and unless things have changed in the last month only the temporary bases have been identified, not the permanent one that will be electrified.
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has approved the release of £59.1 million that will enable the procurement of around 220 further battery-electric buses for the region’s franchised Bee Network.
The first are expected to be in service by the end of 2026. They will predominantly be used on the Oldham and Hyde Road large franchise contracts that are in the hands of Stagecoach Manchester and Metroline Manchester, respectively.

The only orders confirmed so far from that 220 is the 55 StreetDeck Electroliners announced in March, it appears (they are clearly following on from the 76 going to Go North West at the moment), and as noted, the batch begins at 82451 and fairly clearly at least some of them will be at Oldham, if not all.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has confirmed an order for 55 battery-electric buses for the Bee Network from Wrightbus.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham made the announcement on a visit to the manufacturer’s Ballymena factory.
The order precedes the arrival of 76 Wrightbus double-deckers due to go into service next month as part of a £66 million investment with the Northern Ireland manufacturer.

Bearing in mind that GMCA have been fairly clear that they want to buy British, I'd be surprised if ADL don't benefit from this current round of procurement too.
Can someone remind me what large contracts Oldham Depot have got that will use these new electrics? Mind you looking at Oldham Depot's output recently it does seem that its a case of if it moves its allocated looking at some of the allocations recently, it does seem the days of vehicle compliance on various routes doesn't seem to happen much these days.
Once Oldham get these electrics what will happen to the older deckers that Oldham have got at the moment especially some of the E400s and the B5s, also what's planned (if anything) for the E200s & E300s that are at Oldham Depot in the future?

There very much is compliance but as the chargers were installed by TFGM and the electric vehicles are owned by TFGM any issues will mean that stagecoach get dispensation while the issues are ongoing.
Likewise while Hyde road runs the B9’s there will be dispensation on compliance, apart from on the 38 and 76 as these should always now be electric.

Hoping they use them to put more deckers on routes that need them as well, since the 8/10 electrics have arrived at Bolton they’ve put way more deckers on the 575/576 (finally, they REALLY were needed) so maybe they’ll displace the G3s and evosetis to busy routes like 524 and 501 and frequency improvements on busier corridors (and maybe 20/21/22/520 diagrams but I do know they don’t like using deckers on these because of low-hanging trees on the 520 route)

The 524 has around 3 deckers out through the day but at peak times it can be a nightmare with singles although I assume that’s what the deckers are for
TFGM bought them (along with the ex oxfords) for the use of being a stock gap as you have mentioned. These could've been used elsewhere, such as Stockport, if they had been more reliable.
Have Stagecoach got problems with some of their fleet meaning that there isn't an easy fix for various vehicles?
For example for quite a number of months and probably spreading back into last year E300 27947 has got a problem whereby the gearbox snatches pretty badly when changing from 1st into 2nd Gear.
E400 19326 has had a problem for months now whereby it changes from 1st into 2nd but won't change up after 2nd gear leading it to high revving.
From what I've been told the problem with 27947 might be a difficult fix hence why its still doing it months and months after it will probably reported.

Exactly, they do suffer from poor reliability but to be fair they haven't failed on me in almost a year (hopefully I haven't jinxed it), but i'm sure the Electroliners will be a decent upgrade for the routes the B5s serve
Because First didn’t want to include any double deckers In the sale to TFGM, stagecoach were in no position to fill the stop gap as they still had half of Manchester operating commercially, so the only answer was to acquire buses they assumed could fill the gap.
These buses have operated for over two years now so as long as they get a good return on them they haven’t done too badly.

27956 at Queens road has similar issues last year and was constantly on/off the pits with gearbox issues, sure they put it down to fuelling issues.
They are basically cheap awful buses.
19326 is probably on borrowed time hence why it’s not being fixed.

Whilst 4020/1 are now at Bolton and are due AFAIK six from Wigan in exchange for MMC200s.
The first of the new Vantage Electroliners have been completed in Ireland and will head over in the next couple of weeks. I think it was mentioned upthread that these will start another number series, starting at 2301 onwards.
Are you sure? Pretty sure it was that one withdrawn at Bolton after its engine ate its own oil and blew up! It was towed to Wigan as it was deemed uneconomical to repair...

Random question - are TfGM planning another frequency upgrade the the busway hence why 43 buses were ordered for it? I've done a bit of research, and it appears 19 buses are used on the V1 at one time and 11 on the V2 (V4 uses approx 10 but mostly from other duties).

Also I know this thread is primarily about fleet discussion, but as other topics have been discussed, does anybody have a sort of list which shows either the number of buses used on each route, or the minimum number of deckers/single decks a depot needs to run all its routes. It would be greatly appreciated, thanks
