Three of the unrefurbished B5LHs at Queens Road were moved to Oldham when the BZLs arrived for Free Bus. Bizarre that 3 are still at Queens Road in some kind of micro fleet - logically at this point you’d move them to Oldham in trade for 3 400 MMCs.

It's pointless though as the B5LHs are probably gonna get replaced at some point this year as Oldham is becoming electric maybe then Queen's Road can get more MMCs

Heywood had been due to close / Nelson Street open earlier this week but short-term lease extension lined up for Heywood to allow Nelson Street building works to be completed

There is a chance that once Oldham is electric QR will probably standardise it's fleet on MMCs

The B5’s that are currently at Queens road are mainly there for use on the freebus, infact there was one day last week that two were out at the same time on the 1’s and 2’s.

And I think if they get some more MMCs to replace them once Oldham is electric it will be a big upgrade

Are there any plans in the future to purchase diesel buses, or is it electric only from now on? I was on a 20-reg GNW Wright StreetDeck diesel today, and it sounded pretty rough.

There has been about 43 brand new Electroliner's that's been ordered and due to arrive around summer 26. They are due to replace the Wright 3 Gemini's and EvoSeti's used on the Busway, possibly some pre-facelift Ultroliners?

The total is not 43, its 58 i believe as the 8 and 10 are getting electrics too

Due to arrive in April, Stagecoach favour ADL so apart from the TfGM ultroliners at Stockport I doubt they will be getting anything Wright unless TFGM says otherwise
They have the Volvos at Middleton too

I wouldn't be surprised if Oldham gets some to replace the B5LHs as they're both Volvo well the B5LH is Wright/Volvo

Pretty sure TfGM own all them but Stagecoach have ordered plenty of BZLs now ADL and Stagecoach are under separate ownership its more likely non ADLs will be ordered.

Has there been any progress on the Queens Road electrification? Is it the roof of the building which is slowing it down?

I didn’t think it was being done as the roof required too much money to replace.

It will have to be done at some point unless the depot itself is being completely replaced.

Planning permission was sought last year, although it would’ve reduced the depots vehicle capacity by around 40 vehicles

Yeah I believe so but they then had ksurveys on the roof and the quotes to replace it and they were not happy with the prices so we’re looking at other options.

I read somewhere that Stockport are getting new 26 plates to replace the hybrids is this true

I thought quite a bit of e400mmcs transferred over. If it was new buses, those hybrids wouldn't have been withdrawn as the 26 plates havent arrived yet
The next depots to be electrified are Wigan and Wythenshawe, with both expected to be electrified starting in June 2026, however it will take place over three years, these are stage 3 electrifications appartently, and there will be a further stage 4, whatever that means, presume Queens Road will be after these and be prelonged, as it would be difficult to roll out electrification there all in one go, also Sharston is still to be done, so these must be the contents of Stage 4 or 5.

I think the 26 plates are coming imminently but we don't know what they'll be and I think those MMCs are staying there

Why would the operator influence on which manufacturers is better over bus orders ordered by TfGM. That 123 streetdeck were fair and calculated move by TfGM as they are cheap and offer better capacity and robust over the Enviro400s. You can fit 100 on a streetdeck compared to sub 80 capacity on a Enviro400s. The only problem is that you can't expect a streetdeck to do much heavy demending work such as 'consistent high gradient roads with services' such as route 350 which is where a more durable 6 cylinder engine would combat the fuel efficency 'tatget'.

It says 55 more in there and 76 was inspected on inspection from Burnham so does that mean there’s now 131
