The busway is getting Electroliners next year
The busway is getting Electroliners this year (2026), deliveries should commence in April through to June all being well. There are standard Electroliners aswell as those of a higher spec for the Busway and deliveries are likely to be mixed.

I will probably go and spot these at Piccadilly Gardens in the Summer

I caught the 2 from Piccadilly to Victoria (the Manchester City Centre Free Bus) earlier today, buses are nice & electric, & like it's come full circle as those of a certain age remember the old 4 which was given Centreline branding & the buses were electric

Which Centreline buses were electric?

Selnec EX62, but the rest of the seddon midi buses were very unelectric
Yeah but that was just one bus though? Statto wrote "buses" as plural so was scratching my head abit...

To that end, how much running did EX62 actually manage in its career?

I only ever saw it on the doncaster inner circle on loan to SYPTE, I doubt it ever did much of anything anywhere

They were these buses, which i thought were electric

All diesel, bar EX62 and ofcourse 1729 which was a hybrid (!) Diesel-Electric but it wasn't much a success. Interesting to see how the ideas have been around for so long!

As an aside, the BZLs on the 1/2 services remind me most of the Dennis Dominos! Big buses made small!

Loved the Domino’s, although always thought they were wasted on the centreline. When Hyde road started using them on the 168/217 they became my regular ride home from school and were absolute rockets. My old mum was terrified of them and would wait for the slower beefy Olympian on the 169.

Moving back to the present day, the only thing that puts me off the BZL’s being used is the fact there’s so much mileage involved in getting them charged. Would look so much better if there were a couple of chargers installed at the approach so they could be charged between trips.

I think they are trying to do that, but they are useless when theres rail replacements on as they wouldn't be able to use them (or just kick RRs off the approach entirely)

An Olympian on 169? I remember when it was booked Domino on 168 and Dominators on 169, I also remember when Queens Road were short of Dodges for 151 they would send out one of their Dominoes in Chaser branded livery (Whatever that was) onto the arduous 151 Chadderton-Higher Blakely service.

The old electric Versa’s would be charged on the approach using the two chargers but then Network Rail changed the provider and TFGM wouldn’t pay to use them. I fear it’s the same now!

Is today the first time that all buses on the 192 route are in Beeline yellow?
It’s probably just coincidence.

I think there are still a few Enviro400-MMCs in Stagecoach liveries not refurbished yet.

Maybe they are being kept off the 192 as rail tickets are officially allowed on "Bee Network" route 192, so TfGM prefer or are required to insist buses in Stagecoach liveries are kept off the route for the duration.

Had a look at bustimes and there's a couple on unpainted vehicles out in the 192 right now. Stagecoach do seem to have the majority of their fleet in yellow but there's definitely more than a few not in Stockport.

Stockport are using the Little Hulton E400MMCs too which are local livery so yeah

All of the Bee Network spec fleet at Stockport is of course yellow but they don't seem to have made much progress repainting the Stagecoach spec fleet.

To their credit though almost all buses now have the live information screens and auto announcer, which is excellent (although on some buses it doesn't work properly for some reason).

If I remember correctly there was a comment here about the information screens and that buses with a more basic screen aren't staying around long term. And there's definitely a few in Stockport that have a very simple information screen.

One thing i did see the other day was the E400 in the GMS White/Orange/Brown heritage livery & it looked quite nice, i would have preferred TfGM to have gone with this livery rather than the one they have gone for, but hey ho.

I saw the GMS South one in Ashton in August last year after I got off of a 409 and a few months later I bought the Northcord Model

Minor question - anyone happen to know what's going on with getting the destination blind configuration to match up between Bee Network operators? They seem to have updated a few E400s at Sharston and then just stopped.

Although now I think of it, are those older E400s planned to get the new Mobitec controllers installed soon? They'll need them before October to meet the new accessibility regulations

1> What's happened to the Middleton Depot ex Northeast E400Hs have they been disposed of yet or are they in reserve?

2> What's the latest with Evora 21424 that was involved in the incident with the Diamond Bus MMC200 in Eccles last year?

3> Why is E300 27954 now at Oldham Depot ex Queens Road Depot and has anything replaced it at Queens Road?

No idea regarding the hybrids, 21424 still away being repaired, 27954 on loan with 48108 being loaned to queens in return
