We all have the same thing in common, but apart from that, what do we really know about each other?

Tell us something about yourself that we don't know. However strange or unusual you want. You can do as many as you like!

I'll start.

I'm scared of hospitals and old people.
I don't eat properly, and I pretty much live off pasta and Subway.
All of my best friends are from RailUK.
I was always really embarrassed about people looking through my phone pictures, so I put them on the internet.
Despite my love for trains, I hardly know anything about them!

Hmmmmmm

Well I'm pretty much new here, so I better introduce myself a bit better... lol

Scared of Spiders
I eat too much McDonalds ;)
Some of my freinds hate trains, so my real friends are those that understand my hobby.
I'm good at railwayish things, and I like photography....
Apart from that, I'm normal ;)

I could probably write a book  Seriously, though:
  • I was until recently Principal Clarinet and Principal Bass Clarinet in one of the top youth orchestras in Scotland. I have also participated in three international concert tours.
  • I have never been on a service train outwith Scotland. (The NYMR doesn't count)
  • Outwith the forum, less than 10 people know about my railway interests.
  • In my Summer job, I earn more p.a. than my mother currently does!
  • I own a region-free DVD player because I am opposed to region-coding on DVDs.
  • (Embarassing) I own all episodes of "Frasier" and "Friends" on DVD
  • I refuse to eat "fast food" from major chains, with the exception of Subway.

My name is Darren
I have 2 very young children
I have been interested in anything railway related through my father who worked on the track for 42 years but I miss the free travel.
I am a “professional” CV writer
I am still rubbish at railway photography but hope to improve soon.
Oh, I also like cooking

It's easy enough to do a scout around and find out what I do for a living, and where I work...

... but we're supposed to be telling things which you Don't Know...

... well, very few people on the Forums know that I'm studying to be a Methodist Lay Preacher.....

... and today, I cycled the twelve miles into the office in my best-ever time of 51min 32sec - If I'd been seven seconds faster, that would have been an average of exactly 14mph!

Regards

You don't actually have to buy region free DVD players. Most DVD players have a certain button combination that will set them to region free. That's what I did with mine.

My player is very old and was actually cheaper than most of the region 2 players. I did find the codes for some others, but I didn't really want to try them...

I now use my laptop which can switch between regions when you put a disk in and I'm giving up my TV (there's another thing to add to the list!) 'cos I only watch things on BBC anyway.

I like Pendolinos.
I'm afraid that people won't like me if I'm not acting so happy and bouncy all the time.
All I drink at the moment is orange squash and I hate it.
I couldn't live without the internet.
I probably couldn't live without my priv.
I really, really like lists and numbers and stuff like that, which is the main reason that I track my coverage and mileage and try to clear classes.
I like to sing and play guitar. But my singing is dreadful. I don't care. I do it anyway.

Be your self. If people don't like you for who you are, they aint worth knowing! I like trains and buses - I own the one on the left! Like watching lightning storms. Also collect tickets, ticket machines and anything to do with trains and buses realy!

I bought my DVD player from Sainsburys for £19 about 4 years ago and it doesn't object to any regions... unlike the £50 one upstairs!

My name is Mintona and I'm an alcoholic....

Sorry, this whole set up just reminds me of the AA.

Anyway, seriously.

- I dropped out of Sixth Form less than 1 month before my A Level exams to start my dream job.
- I love listening to Radio 1, especially Moyles and Mills.
- I've never been in a relationship
- I would love to be in the RAF or Police if I didn't work for the railways.
- I like Irish punk rock, and other more indie styles of music.
- I have the best 2 friends anyone could ever have, even though I don't live anywhere near either of them.
- I would love to visit New Zealand or Canada but am too scared of getting on a plane.
- I have Grade 5 Distinction in trumpet.

Over to someone else....

Umm...well....there's not all that much special that you don't know

  • I'm forever being used as a sounding board to talk things over with people and offer advice
  • I've managed to get about 6 friends interested in Railways and Buses
  • I spend 2 hours a day on a Trident 2 to go to and from school
  • I'm taking History, Geography, Spanish at GCSE
  • I've never had a girlfriend, even though several girls would like to go out with me (it's complicated and I cba to explain)
  • I'm in the CCF RAF section and I've got about 5hrs flighing in Grob Tutors.

I think that's just about all I can think of just now.

I like Casualty.
I have very low self esteem.
I like all forums of piercing, tattooing and body modification.
I just got another ear piercing in my dinner break from college.
I have no idea what I want to do with my life.
I'm currently on a course for drop out troublemakers.
I hate getting my hands wet so, so much.
I'm obsessed with Final Fantasy VII for PS1.
I really like crossing things off lists and adding up numbers and stuff. This is the main reason that I track my mileage, number crunch and track my coverage.

I have two cats, one fat and fluffy and one thin and shorthaired, and 2 rabbits, who are identical twins but are worlds apart in personality.

I spend a fair quantity of my spare time up railway signals or down holes.

I'm a station master at one of the largest preserved railway stations in Britain.

Nobody I know knows everything there is to know about me

  • I own all episodes of "Frasier" on DVD

Lucky you, I have to put up with trying to watch it on Paramount Comedy instead. Much easier to have them all on DVD I would imagine.

Random fact: I have all seasons of Family Guy on DVD.

Random fact 2: I use a Nokia 1112.

I say I know something when I don't, and when I know something I say I don't know it.

I'm always very happy unless there's nobody around, in which case I return to my default setting of neutral.

I hate TV soaps and watch Hollyoaks.

I tend to get really angry with people who don't seem to be as intelligent as me, and therefore are less able to work as fast as I can, and understand things as fast as I can, which is a really really bad habit I have.

I'm the Super Nazi Welly Monsters nemesis.

I tend to do strange things with tail lamps, from running with none, two, one of the drawhook, bardics and flashers on the rear in the past three years, always running with them lit during bright daylight; and I always aim to run with a lamp on the back of DMUs but refuse to have one on EMUs.

I like to do things differently to everybody else, purely because I can, this has normally involved making far more hard work for myself than would have been required.

I eat far too many cakes, and am more than happy to leave the train for a long time to get a Panino.

I have low confidence, well I suppose I do ;)
I have great aspirations..I think
I don't want to be anything in particular, just so long as I make a lot of money, am happy and have a family. But then, you don't know what hand life will deal you.
I'm 1/2 Scottish
Like: Reading, outdoors, buses
Love: Computers, trains, certain people...
Hardly ever watch TV, documentaries or the news is my thing.
