I guess it doesn't matter how it looks as long as it actually lasts.
I take it given the 455s and 456s will eventually go, no chance of them ever having WiFi.
They are being fitted now. 6011 has had it for months as a trial.

The big question is whether the interior has been done or whether it's just moved outside for a bit of fresh air!
Did anyone expect the livery to change? I didn’t to be honest, although that time in the sheds haven’t done the unit any good. It looks grubby, especially between carriages.
I've obviously not travelled in 6011 yet. They are being fitted now. 6011 has had it for months as a trial.
Very likely not. As an intensively used suburban fleet due for replacement, SWR cannot afford any unit shortages until the 701s start coming on stream. Will the 455,456 or 458 units see any form of refurbishment before they go?
Such a little little little thing, turning the poles and grab handles blue - but I think it would be sooo effective for sure.
That's the 9th livery they have now!159010 has come back in plain blue and white, but with a light blue surround to the wheelchair door and a yellow surround to the first class.
The same stickers were already used on the 450s in the first class area, and have probably been there since the trains were originally delivered, 15 years ago. I expect back then people quickly sussed out that it actually meant "nothing more powerful than" a laptop charger.I've noticed that on some 450s there are now plug sockets. There use to be pug sockets on a few but it's expanding is my impression.
If it is expanding then I'm sure the above point has been mentioned on here.
However has anyone mentioned the fact that on top of the plug dockets is a message about it being for laptop battery charging only. In this day and age of smartphones that seems silly. I've not seen similar wording on other trains being to other franchises.

We've not had that yet, but give it a few weeks and maybe we will.Personally I think the best variation is no stripes for the dark blue with stripes for the grey.
@Train Boy has been keeping a list earlier in the thread, I'll quote it here. It is coming up to 1/3 of the fleet now.How many are done now? Must be near a third of the fleet.

As an addition onto my previous post, here is another photo posted on Facebook, showcasing the Class 442s in the same livery, but without the SWR branding:Hi all - a little update on the Class 442s: I was browsing through Facebook earlier and I came across a photo posted which shows one of the Class 442s *possibly* in its final livery.
Here is the photo:

Personally, I think the livery looks quite smart on these units, and I can’t wait to see what the interior looks like.![]()

The latest render of the 701s show them stripeless so I guess this is the final version. That looks like it is stripeless, so more like 159010
Is Desiros a typo there?Yes it is due out immanently, the union were supposed to be invited to review the unit and come to an agreed method of working on Desiros, including restricting people passing in back cabs, but with the latest round of action announced the invitation was withdrawn.
Probably not.Is Desiros a typo there?
