They are Grammer seats, it's a different type to the ones found in the GWR HSTs etc. Grammer is a company and not a specific seat.Grammar seats are those used on GWR HSTs/ScotRail 158s/EMT 158s/OBB RailJet. They have never been used in 444s.

Not just one airport really.
OK, Southampton is the only actual airport station, but Bournemouth is the nearest station to Bournemouth Airport, Woking has the Heathrow coaches and Clapham Junction is regularly used for interchanges to Gatwick.
So yes luggage racks would be a good idea.
This seems to be one of those things that will have rail bosses salivating like a rabbid dog.
No, the Desiro standard seat is a Grammer product, the E3000. The seat you discuss is the IC3000.

Planned 444 first class seat is Fisa Lean, while 450 first will have the same seats, just covered in cheap vinyl.Oh ok. Aren’t the planned first class seats the IC3000s?
Aren’t they what are used in 458 first class as well?

Hmmm, seems much like less for more (less quality & more seats). The moving of first class on the 450s is interesting, I can understand the desire to make it more secluded but as the sets are gangwayed that will only work to a certain extent. The first class on the GA 360s is at the extremities and the problems are in my experience that being over the motored bogies the ride can be livelier than in the middle of a non-powered coach and also the air-conditioning in hot weather doesn't seem to work as well as in the centre of the coach which is made worse by any doors between the saloons making the air flow in the first class 'compartment' some what limited. Some more details on the Desiro refurbishment.
444
450
- First Class layout changed from 2+1 to 2+2.
- First Class seating reduced from 35 to 32 seats per unit.
- First Class compartment reduced in size to allow extra Standard Class seats.
- Buffet removed for extra seating.
- Guard's office removed for extra seating.
- One of the two bike storage areas replaced by Standard Class seating.
- First Class moved from centre of the train to behind each cab.
- First Class seating reduced from 24 to 16 seats per unit.
- Guard's office removed for extra seating.
- Extra Standard Class seating as a result of the relocation of First Class.
The photograph does not show vinyl seats, it shows moquette with a vinyl (or e-leather[1]) headrest, which I personally consider to both look good and be quite a good design decision in terms of keeping clean etc. (So many people still seem to have horribly greasy hair!)
2+2 in First is a stupid idea (might as well just abolish it), but I can't see any problem with the proposals for the Standard seating itself. I hope, indeed, that "wmtrains" does a similar job on the 350s.
[1] Recycled leather fibres in a vinyl matrix.
Reminds me of the newer Arriva buses:Those seats look bloody awful with their cheap vinyl look, the headrests are crap as well. They look like something from the wrong era brought kicking and screaming into 2017

Can't see any moquette in this.
One thing which could be fitted to the 444s to make them better is luggage racks.
Considering they serve an airport plus 2 reasonably large seaside towns, as how many times have you seen large suitcases seemingly dumped in the vestibules

I think the main reason is you know where the 1st class seats are going to be and stand at an appropriate position on the platform. With the current 450s you do not know if the seating will be in the 2nd or 3rd coach of a 4 car set.
Least the Arriva buses don't have the horrible retro useless headrest.
I don't think any 444s call at Feltham. You also get quite a few Heathrow passengers and crew at Feltham
Waterloo-Portsmouth then Portsmouth-Southampton Central then Southampton Central-Waterloo?What opportunities are there in the SWR network for stock to end up the wrong way round in normal operation? Just the Hounslow loop?
The Class 800s don't have a guards compartment. Neither do Voyagers.Something I'm concerned about is the removal of the guards compartment on the 444s. Seems a slow move to guardless trains.
Thanks. You may be to see how I thought they might be, though. They have similarities:I don't know which trains do have them, but Vienna S-Bahn definitely isn't one of them.
Can't see many similarities I'm afraid. These are Fisa Lean seats, though I don't know what unit it is on:Thanks. You may be to see how I thought they might be, though. They have similarities:

Not on the 800s, they don't. They use the cabs. They use the galley.
One at each end of a voyager
One large one at one end of an IET
