Potentially a withdrawal this week. ROG have a published path from Wimbledon to Derby Litchurch Lane for Thursday, the loco would come down tomorrow direct to Wimbledon. These moves have been 455s in the past with GBRF doing 701 related moves.

530/533 are alternating between Wimbledon & Staines depending on the day (still in service)
535 is currently in Wimbledon (presumably awaiting drag to Long Marston eventually...)

Wow, well spotted. Never noticed that difference! The /9's single rainstrip appears much higher than the /7's individual rainstrips. Is it as effective that high up? As the /9s are newer, I guess this is supposed to be an improved design?

"additional roof ventilators due to the moving of heating equipment from roof level to floor level, no roof end hatches, no car end ventilation grilles; full length rain guttering at the Cantrail level instead of only over the doors; cast alloy tread plates at all doorways and a snow baffle in front of the air horns."

Seems strange we now only have photos of the 455/9's now they are all gone though get the earlier thread comment the corrosion in this sub class was pretty bad.

With the previous post assume there will be two pairs of 455/7 remaining on SWR for now for cover.

I noted on LRR that 5721 5716 last worked last Thurs 19th 0733 Weybridge to Waterloo. I wonder if they are the candidates for the drag ?

Maybe the 701 rollout is going better than anticipated and they are no longer required……

Well, it's only a few weeks until the end of March and I thought the 455s were retained on the basis that they be gone *by* the end of March.

There's now 39 701s for 35 diagrams. If SWR suddenly had to get shot of all remaining 455s today it would hardly impact resilience.

I expect that the 458/5’s will be dispensed with in short order.

So I agree. I reckon the 458/5s will also be gone by the end of March.

That would also align the the multiple short forms the Windsor side has seen in the last few days rather than an 8-455 being used.

The 08:33 Weybridge one stays 458/5, the Reading one switches to 458/4s. 2U73 22:33 to Windsor swaps from the Reading diagram to the Weybridge one and 22:22 Weybridge swaps from Weybridge onto Reading to balance out the stock.

With 458 availability not being great what actually happens might vary a little from planned.

It is the diagram that starts with 0620 Waterloo - Reading that ended on Friday, which in practice was Thursday because the 458/5 was covered by a 450 on Friday. 458533 is working to Reading late tonight and then ECS to Staines to be in position for Monday morning
