Nope. Still stored at Derby. Last thing that was said was Network Rail buying half of it for Basingstoke ROC and the other half to the fire school. I highly doubt it'll be preserved.

I remember hearing that 455715 was close to withdrawal and I notice that it isn’t in service today. Has it already been withdrawn?

It has been allocated to the evening peak service 2F91 (17.02 Waterloo to Guildford)
In my opinion, if anyone on here can make it, that is a must do for anyone looking for some ear shattering thrash, it runs along the fast lines non stop to Surbiton and could very easily be the last time a unit as loud as 715 does this run.
(All the other units I had down as being as loud have gone now...)

5860 is allocated to 2S47 this evening, so is not yet off lease. I notice that on the new leaf-fall timetable diagrams, which commenced today, that this 4-car 455 diagram now includes a late evening trip to Windsor

455 715 + 455 705 work back from Guildford as 2G58 at 18.04, then do a Chessington return at 19.17 ( 2M57 ) out and 20.10 ( 2M64 ) back; after that they're on the 20.54 Waterloo - Guildford via Epsom ( 2D63 ) and 22.42 return same route ( 2D78 ).

They then berth in the sidings immediately outside Waterloo, so there's a possibility they will be out tomorrow for at least the morning peak.

I wonder if it's time we should have a thread for the remaining class 455 workings?

this might be a similar situation as 5848, she ran for less than a week, then MA blew up, then off tho scrap in the following days, don't take this for granted though as she might be making a full return

Nice idea as then those only interested in the withdrawals, like myself, can focus on that. :) I don’t like them and I only like hearing that they’re being towed off! :lol:

The point about my post about 5860 was that it was posted in this thread on Saturday as stored and a candidate for imminently going for scrap, so it relates directly to withdrawals and wasn't just a general observation about twilight workings

That’s fine, but it brings about a true point that people probably will start asking if 455XXX is on XXX diagram, etc etc. and so we might as well prepare for that now.

That's the end for the /9 subclass then. (Upthread it was reported the last working was 5920, into Dorking just before midnight on the 15th according to RTT (should have been just after, but it was a couple of minutes early)
