@TT-ONR-NRN Do I take it that this note against 455 868 means that the supposed sale that would have had two carriages going somewhere safe and two for the fire training college has fallen through and the unit is now awaiting movemnt to Newport?

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.
If not, no, I must have missed that. What I mean is, it’s not in service and it’s not scrapped, so to my mind it was somewhere in between.

I’d imagine 5717 was used as insurance to assist the other unit back.

2 more scrap moves booked in for next week, although as always could be subject to change.

Partly this but also a means of getting the driver down to Bournemouth without the hassle of passing from Wimbledon Depot to Waterloo, pass to Bournemouth and then getting to Bournemouth Depot, by whatever meanes. In my day we called it a "taxi move" !

5920 ended its working life with 1D73 2310 Waterloo to Dorking partnered on Monday with 5860 which I think has also gone off lease.

Not as fast as 5908 which was something like 40 hours between in service and departing for Newport.

After returning from Bournemouth yesterday, 5708 has returned to passenger service today over 5 months since it last saw passenger service on 13.04.25. This must surely be the last one to have a prolonged absence. 5727 is now the longest out of use, 15.08.25, if I have the dates noted correctly.
