More importantly - who is drawing the smiley face and/or BR logo on the front of the 455/458s? I have noticed it on dozens of different units in recent months….

I dont see why they wouldn't considering they all use the same MK3 bodyshell although It would probably be quite annoying to get them shipped all the way up to Scotland to replace windows on 318's and 320's.

I bet it would be cheaper to procure a replacement part up there and I doubt Scotrail are lacking in MK3 EMU windows anyways. they must have had quite a few come out of the spare 321 coaches during conversion to 320/4

There's one with farewell written beneath it on 5911 stabled in Wimbledon fitting as it very much so will be the farewell of the /9s in the next few Weeks

5715 is also close to end of lease AIUI so if anyone still requires it you are advised to get it asap.

I’d like to know this too. I’ve seen it on a lot of units recently. It’s always the same smiley face.

SWR shouldn’t be letting their units get that dirty but that’s another matter.

Post #2884 lists 44 455s still with SWR, but only around 30 or so are required for service. Therefore there's a fair surplus of units.

There is absolutely a backlog to clear. With one new 701 diagram being added per week, at least another 16 units (or eight scrap moves) on top of the weekly Monday move are probably required to clear it.
