At least they've not been sent back to the depot. Fingers crossed, they're still scheduled to be the 1843 Shepperton via Richmond.

Crickey - I would say two pairs of 455s out in service was nice BUT three !.

The 18:43 is looking positive for 455717 & 455727 currently (18:28) "At platform", No 18 -btw.

I can confirm it’s working the slightly delayed 18:43 from Waterloo - I’m hitching a ride from Richmond to Fulwell

Just on a train going through Stoke-on-Trent: what's the 455 there (just a single coach?) and why's it there? - many thanks

Hiya!

Does anyone have an idea of any 455 diagrams for today? On my way to Waterloo shortly and hoping to catch some today! Thank you ✨

There’s nothing currently allocated to 455s, so your best bet is to check throughout the day in case they are substituted in to a diagram. (You can check allocations here: https://live.rail-record.co.uk/allox/ ; the remaining unit numbers are 455712, 455716, 455717, 455721, 455727 and 455732.) No sets were out yesterday (for, I think, the first time on an ordinary weekday…?) so you are reliant on something else failing.

(Edited to correct 455713 to 455712!)

Minor point, but I think 455713 ought to read 455712.

After a five week hiatus another 701 entered service yesterday afternoon as well so I think 455 workings are going to start becoming somewhat rarer. There are now 37 701s for 34 diagrams.

1038 did enter service yesterday but failed on its first service and hasn't been back out since :frown:

As it only yesterday give it a chance!
Yes it'll definitely come back at eventually, I guess my point was more that whatever went wrong with it wasn't just a simple fix and carry on or ECS back to Waterloo for the next service, it must have been a more substantial fault.

Anyways, I'll stop clogging up the 455 thread with 701 messages now :)

It wasn't an easy fix, however following 1036's return yesterday, there were 36 fit units by the afternoon and then down to 35 this morning and no exam immediately due, so there is now very precious wriggle room in the fleet. This is not to say 455s will not come back, as the risk is still currently there with the gradual ramping up of 701 diagrams later this month, especially if no more pass out for service.

Afternoon all, what are the chances of 455’s being deployed on crowd-buster services during the six nations games at Twickenham?

Twenty-nine 701s are required tomorrow so I would say the likelihood is very low.

455717+455727 at Waterloo working 2K13, 0827 rounder via Kingston. Returns at 1000 the other direction and repeats every 3 hours.

Thanks for this.

Does this mean that this is likely be the unit to run the 1136 CLJ to WIM? (1127 dep WAT).

At the moment, yes. I suspect they will get swapped at some point in the day as the diagram they are currently on does not take them back to Wimbledon Park Depot.

A service using 455s today is looking less likely as 701022 is looking likely to enter the passenger world.
I wonder if 701038 is ready to try again ?.

But stranger things have happened :-

Thought I saw a potential opportunity for the 455's on 2O53 tonight as it looks like there was a problem with 701013...

Inbound ECS for the service was cancelled and now 701030 has been pinched to work 2O53, resulting in the cancellation of 1N95
