Hello, I’ve just booked a super off peak return from Liverpool to London Euston, leaving Friday 25th October. I booked through the train line, which I’ve never done before (don’t like paying the fee), but this ticket wasn’t available anywhere else (first red flag perhaps)

The Trainline has suggested Liverpool - Crewe (13:33-14:18), followed by Crewe - Euston (15:13-17:24).

I have since checked the LNW website for ticket restrictions and it suggests that for super off peak trains;

Trains travelling to London Euston

  • Valid Monday to Saturday for trains arriving at London Euston from 13:00.
  • Not valid for trains arriving at London Euston between 16:00 and 19:00.
  • This ticket is valid for travel all day on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
So if that’s true, my super off peak return isn’t valid, as it does indeed arrive in Euston between 16:00 and 19:00?

Any suggestions on this? Thank you :)

That’s not correct on the website. The restrictions for a Super Off Peak Return are as follows:

(Restriction Code LF)

Not valid for travel on trains timed to arriveLondon Terminals before 13:00.

Not valid for travel on northbound services timed to depart any station before 10:30.

Not valid for travel on services timed to depart the origin station on the ticket after 15:59 and before 19:01 in either direction.

A connecting service can be used to complete a journey begun at a valid time.

Your ticket is perfectly valid for those times. You just can’t start your journey from the origin station between 1600-1900

edit:

In future you can book from the LNR app. No fees and there’s an option to select their trains only on there. :)

For future reference the forum's own ticket selling site will sell the ticket and you won't get charged a booking fee.
