Strangest clothing on a train

Simple question - what's the most unusual thing you've ever seen someone wearing on a train?

I got this idea from reading on another site about someone who intends to go to London by train in a real suit of armour.

Unfortunately I myself have never seen anything bizarre like this, but I am sure that some of you guys must have some interesting experiences to share.

I have often seen people wearing Birmingham City shirts and obviously having no shame in doing so. They didn't even have their carers with them

Saw a woman at Nottingham one Saturday afternoon recently wearing a Toga (clearly an old bed sheet), complete with laurel wreath and stiletto heels. Sadly, the 'toga' was too long and she kept stepping on it. She walked the entire length of the HST, struggling with this all the way - if she'd have trodden on it too hard, I could only imagine the results

Piccadilly line - August last year. Two (fit) girls get on (somewhere in central London, can't remember where). One wearing a bikini, the other a bikini and a towel wrapped round her waist.

Like it wasn't already hot enough down there! They only travelled one or two stops and got off.

They had some kind of "badge" or "label" on what little clothing they were wearing so I guessed they were part of some kind of event that was going on above.

On the tube a short while ago I saw two blokes dressed as women. I don't think they were trannies or anything; they must have come from a party or something.

A few years ago, also on the Tube, I saw a guy dressed in a Star Trek: TNG uniform.

I saw a man "wearing" some sort of paper suit once. He was a little worse for wear and it turned out it was his stag do and he had been thrown, naked, onto a train.

The gaurd put him in his office thingy until the police could give him some clothing at the next station. All they had was a paper eveidnce suit. He was NOT a happy man!

If you hang about Clapham Junction till 1600 on a Sunday you'll see a whole train full of Aussies & Kiwis in fancy dress coming back from The Church and going back to Shepherds Bush. Always very noisy but well behaved.

Allegedly, back in the 'old old days' certain Jubilee drivers would wear Kamikazee headbands while driving. Unsuspecting Japanese tourists at Baker St. would see them and refuse to get on their train.

Also allegedly, after Silence of the Lambs first came out a certain Met driver wore one of those Hannibal Lecter style hockey masks while driving.

More of a lack of clothing this one. On a late Chirstmas eve many many years back some bloke kept obstructing the doors at Hillingdon - when I eventually went to see what was up joined by the railman on the platform said bloke was found to be not wearing any trousers. He pointed to a tramp who was wearing them. Apparently he had fallen asleep after coming back from an office party and the tramp had stole his trousers leaving the old rags he had next to the bloke. The tramp was in no mood to give them back and actually wanted us to call the police (probably wanted a bed for the night). When the police turned up they just made him give the trousers back - not sure I'd have put them back on after the tramp had been wearing them but he did. They both continued to Uxbridge where the tramp managed to dodge station staff, hide and spend the night in the photo me booth in the station.

Wedding party, including driver, fireman and guard. The important thing about wedding trains is NO PRIMING or wheelspin!

Ahhh...you haven't lived until you've had a train full of passengers in fancy dress. Wedding trains always have good scenery, theme parties are even better, such as "Roaring Twenties" or "Steam Punk". Can't find any other good pics at the mo, pity as some are pretty racy!

I must say wearing a Kamikaze headband appeals to me, might have to do that at work...heh heh!

I've worn an orange hi-vis feather boa while driving a train, I suppose that's a bit tame? And my fireman and I once wore a ghost/bedsheet for a "Wizard's Express" train...

I had to wear purple and pink on my train but only because STUPID filthgroup had some bright idea that it 'looked nice' on a uniform

Strangest I have seen (though I see people wearing such things, it isn't usual to be so on a station) were some guys at the local station (on the Ale Trail, I think) who were wearing typical farming attire, complete with flat cap and wellies! They seemed pretty well oiled and thankfully they didn't get on my train (they may have wanted to but changed their mind as to which side it was at the last moment!)

I can't remember exactly when it was but I was waiting for an LU train (possibly Victoria Line) one day in the middle of summer a year or so back - the platforms were roasting with no moving air, yet there was a girl stood next to me in a big, long and thick coat!!! How...I have no idea, as I was warm in just a t-shirt!!!

On an FGW HST off Paddington I saw a bloke dressed in a banana suit, carrying a pair of maracas. The worst part of it was he was......err shall we say 10 sheets to, and he ket randomly bursting out with " It's peanut butter jelly time", seemingly in hommage to Brain Griffin out of Family Guy.

A young lad in full Scottish dress complete with kilt talking in a thick scouse accent. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was in Edinburgh where I'd been a day previously - this was on the Wirral line on Merseyrail at 10 at night!
