RTT is still showing trains as running through oddly if this is the case.

Edit: I hope it's not closed i've got a train to catch in 2 hours.

2nd Edit: According to TfW Journey Check, some lines are blocked due to a landslip between Shrewsbury and Hereford, disruption expected until 14.15.

For my Porthmadog to Machynlleth leg, RTT was showing a train, but it was really the Rail Replacement Bus.

I actually had a much more interesting trip to Birmingham, for trains, but less so for scenery...

I really can't tell if this ran or not - https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:P19487/2022-02-22/detailed#allox_id=0

At about 0800, the platform indicator boards were showing 'Cancelled' for this one.

At about 0940, it was back to showing 'On Time' but with the scrolling message that this service would be replaced by Road Transport, so I decided to abandon ship and go a different way.

However, those times seem far too good for a bus, don't they ?

Looks like that was indeed a train (which formed a service back to Pwllheli later).
The Barmouth to Fairbourne times alone would be nowhere near achievable by road.

That must have caused some confusion, as the bus stop is on the other side of the level crossing barriers to the platform, so if people were waiting at the stop and suddenly the barriers came down and a train turned up, there must have been some kerfuffle getting them back to the right side.

You can excuse some of the poor communication etc. on Monday, when it was all still fresh and new, but they should have been more in control of things by Tuesday. I was surprised that having an advanced ticket didn't get a bit more in the way of automatic updates etc.

Brundall-Lingwood blocked yesterday afternoon by a falling tree. The Berney line proves it’s worth on such occasions with Lingwood & Acle passengers being passed on local buses. Unfortunately though none of them run between the two stations or between Acle & Brundall except for a few peak journeys.

As most lines are now largely unaffected and are now back to normal we will bring this thread to a close.

Thanks all.
