Have you proof the routes are safe to be operated through? Because we're all waiting for it.
Find me some that it isn't surely. Usually network or national rail websites are very good at informing when there are issues. I haven't seen a single one. So climb down of you very high horse my friend

Did the 1020 Holyhead -> Chester TfW service actually operate in service today? Before accumulating heavy delays and maybe then being terminated at Llandudno Junction? Could, of course, possibly be duff data.

The North Wales Coast line is currently suspended awaiting route proving, which is in progress.

The route proving train has, in the last 15 minutes or so found 5 large trees down across both lines east of Llandudno Junction.

There are multiple outstanding signal failures along the line of route.

So yeah, not infact closed for the sake of it…

According to RTT it was an ECS move and took nearly 5 hours to do Holyhead-Llandudno Junction.

Stock in Kings Norton station/Bromsgrove left during the storm or did I read that wrong?
At Kings Norton there is a Cross Country 170 DMU abandoned on P4 and a 730 parked just before the beginning of P1. 2 x 730's are in the 'Up' platform at Northfield. I saw them an hour or so ago.

On Railcam there is an EMU parked at Longbridge and one at Bromsgrove. All have been stranded since yesterday afternoon.

What are the chances of these getting shifted overnight?

Forecasted weather. No trees, no wires that we don't have down. Predicted weather. which came and went....
Yesterday
Read post 303 and 304 which clearly states a line examination train has taken 5 hours between Holyhead and Llandudno and had found trees down on the line.

Some armchair CEO's just don't know when to give up.

Here is your evidence of route checks to make sure the line is safe. The evidence is there. 3 hours Holyhead to Bangor tells the story itself.

"All lines are blocked" & "heavy rain and strong winds" are in that text too (not the best formatted admittedly).

People have already told you what is wrong with the lines and route proving is required. Stop digging yourself into a bigger hole.

Where exactly? Quotes to official source....

People aren't going to be sharing official logs in the public domain.

Again stop digging and presuming trains are being cancelled for the hell of it.

Have you considered that the results of yesterday's weather (such as fallen trees etc) might take some time to clear up and just because it's not so windy today, you can't just reopen the line for start of service?

Where is there a suggestion that bit is clear?
Evidence it isn't?

Or a Sunday is a tough day to crew anyway so let's just shut it down another day and use the met office predictions as an excuse possibly

Already some cancellations for tomorrow morning presumably because of trains in the wrong places.

Now you're just making things up and digging yourself an even bigger hole. Give up.

Evidence it isn't?

After weather as extreme as that experienced yesterday the only reasonable course of action is to block lines until they are proven clear, rather than run trains and hope for the best. And line proving is not a 5 minute job, either to arrange or carry out, especially in the hours of darkness at this time of year.

If NR were genuinely checking things, surely there would be engineering type trains doing that. I don't think any have gone past mine at all
NR vans and people checking level crossing barriers and operation Criccieth and Porthmadog this afternoon. That stretch won't see passenger trains for another week.

At no point have I suggested anything as dangerous as running trains and hope for best. My entire point was to shut an 80 odd mile stretch of line, just in case was over the top if there isn't a better reason than, the met office said it might be windy.
Yesterday was brutal. I completely understand it. Today is a very different day, with very much less than predicted bad weather. Some sort of service could run unless there is genuine infrastructure issues. Which I have still yet to see

A post above suggested that there were still several outstanding signal failures. I assume you saw this but because Network Rail weren't personally providing you with schematics and photographic evidence you chose to dismiss it?

Really? Missed these. Please show me. Signal failures from a panel on Cardiff. Hardly semaphore. Cables and fibre. But apologies if this is in fact the case. Why isn't that given as a reason on any web or journey check?

How many times does it need to be said to you? Routes need to be checked to be safe before any trains can run. The North Wales route has been checked but it took 5 hours to get from Holyhead to Llandudno Junction and doesn't look like it's progressed further.

In one paragraph you say its all over the top and trains should run and in the next one saying yesterday was brutal and you understand it.

You're making yourself look silly now.

The lines are blocked as a result of the aftermath of the storm. What exact level of detail do you need?

That probably put the driver over their hours to complete the job. They would certainly have been due a PNB by the time if arrival at LLJ.

Just show me where the line is blocked?

A train took an awfully long time after leaving Holyhead. But...made it. Nothing quoted as blocking lines between Junction Chester anywhere
