Thats original, I am sure there are loads of fitters at Eastleigh (all trained up on the 508s) just sitting there waiting for something to do!![]()
I thought that as they were stored in Eastleigh and being delivered directly to customers from Eastleigh and potentially any pre delivery work was being done at Eastleigh that there may just be someone that could keep two or three of them maintained for SWT.
My thought also went along the lines of; if there isn't anyone at Eastleigh that can maintain them then either the customer has to send their own fitters to Eastleigh to work out which ones currently work/are fixable or they have to wait for them to be delivered and hope that they work/are fixable and then maintain and fix them before they enter service. If either is the case it's not surprising that they are still in store.
