I have thought of a better clue. All the stations have had something added but now three are now missing the same thing but one is not.

Cardiff has a platform 0, Reading a platform 16 which is between 8 & 9 and Bristol Parkway are numbered 2-4.

They have all had platforms added but have missing numbers except Newport.

Newport had an additional platform number 4 and now has platforms 1 - 4.
Cardiff had 0 added and has 0 - 7 but no 5
Bristol Parkway has one added but now has 2 - 4 and no 1
Reading has 1 - 16 but loads missing between 9 and 16.
