Cathcart is the only one from which you can't see the approaching train when it is stopped at the next station down the line?

I'll accept that one - Cathcart being the only one where you can't see the next station down the line.

Lockerbie.

The only one managed by a TOC [in this case, Scotrail], which operates no trains calling.

Now I had that one as my answer not so long ago... :D

Fairfield because its the only one where someone who has posted in this thread does not come from.

Lowestoft The only one to be hated by the online community?

Thorpe Bay The only one to have more than one member in this quiz come from.

Probably someting to do with which stations you can / can't pick up free Wifi.

Wild guess - Fairfield is the only one where you can't pick up Wifi.

Nope. gnolife and Trainfan344 are closer to the right idea.

Not wishing to be pedantic, it does seem that this thread is moving away from being 'Station Odd One Out' to being 'Settlement Odd One Out'. Let's hope we don't have the same problems that we have had in the past with the 'Station Association' / 'Settlement Association' threads.

Lowestoft is the only one that doesn't have anything noteworthy about it with regards the quiz forum
(Thorpe Bay, or Twerp, is known as a gag location for Name the Station, Helensburgh and Fairfield, until the last timetable change, were good for finishing a leg off in the Next Station is)

Lowestoft is noteworthy on Guess the Station, is it not? That aside that is the best attempt so far.

I disagree with that - I'd say Helensburgh Central is the only one that can't be used as a starter in TNSI (Lowestoft has Oulton Broad N and Oulton Broad S as adjacent stations)

Indeed, but both are terminal stations...

Lowestoft is the only one to be a home town of a person who replied to the last odd one out?

Open floor. The answer I was looking for was Helensburgh Central as it is the only station from the 4 not known for being a "gag" station somewhere on the Quiz Forum. Thorpe Bay (Twerp) is a gag station on Name the Station; Fairfield is (or was) notorious on The next station is... (referred to as "The Fairfield Trap"); Lowestoft is a gag on Guess the Station.

Kirton Lindsey is the only one which cannot be avoided by an alternative route?

Denton, Reddish South and Pilning can be avoided by taking a diffrent route, and Kirton Lindsey is on a route which cannot be avoided.

I think you're going for saying what I was thinking of, roughly. The way that I had it phrased was 'Kirton Lindsey is the only one not within an hours walk from another mainline station (according to Google Maps).
