We normally only accept station codes on this quiz that are part of the national rail network and not those of the London Underground, Tyne and Wear Metro, Manchester Metrolink, etc, that do have a recognised 3-letter code.

FEG

Noting that the new rule clarification was made AFTER that posting, this will be allowed, but all contestants are requested to take note of the new ruling

FEG = Fellgate Metro (TYNE AND WEAR METRO).

I believe the code for Fellgate is actually a National Rail one. Others such as JAW for Jarrow are obviously only used by Metro, in fact I believe FGT is the Metro code for Fellgate.

Fellgate is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro, that has services provided by Northern Rail from Sunderland to Newcastle passing through the station every hour, but none of these services stop at the station. Only Tyne and Wear Metro services actually stop at this station.

So the new rule means only stations which are served by National Rail trains and not any light rail etc. In this instance Fellgate can be used to stop at by Northern, but some other stations aren't. St Peters is another which can also used by Northern Rail.

I have enbolded the section in the above which shows that no Northern Rail trains actually stop at Fellgate station. If they did, the code for that station would indeed be valid, but they do not do so.
