Pontyclun is also a station on the South Wales Main Line (a station I travel to quite regularly), that is also the first stop out of Cardiff, and also has an extremely dire service on a Sunday like Llanharan, with just three trains a day in each direction; albeit they are all Manchester and Milford Haven services, so they do provide connections!
