Truro is a three platform station that had services run by the Great Western Railway, similar to Birmingham Snow Hill (who currently only has three National Rail platforms).
"Super Mare" is of course an upmarket way of saying "on Sea", and does not refer to an improved kind of horse. ... And if we want to talk about "on Sea", surely the UK's finest On Sea destination must be Southend-on-sea
Altrincham FC knocked out 1st division Birmingham City of the FA Cup in 1986 at St Andrews
A slightly awkward use of the word "pole", as in Polesworth, involves a certain type of dance. This type of dance goes hand-in-hand with the word "lap", and in keeping with the second syllable in Polesworth - Lapworth.
Ouch! Didn't now that one. Scalp and a half! But does it beat Sutton's victory over Coventry a few years later? (Or Havant's brave showing against Liverpool a few years ago?)
Llanfairpwll (which is the correct name of that station) and Euxton Balshaw Lane are both passed through nonstop by Virgin Trains' 221s.
Now that is just being awkward!Really? They usually pass a good few yards east of the station itself on the Fasts![]()
